Description of system components for invitations to bid

Preliminary
Cable penetrations in core holes or pipes leading through walls have to be sealed against fire, gas and
water. The technical suitability has to be proved by a test report from an authorized testing institute.
bst cable sealing, modular system, type RR plug seal in combination with Quick-Fix TCM (Tolerance
Cable Module), fire-resistant S90 acc. to DIN 4102/9 resp. ÖNorm B3836 4 hours “insulation” acc. to
B.S. 476/20. Gas- and water tightness up to 4 bar minimum has to be proved.
System description:
The system consists of pre-manufactured plug seals (1) made from flame resistant, halogen free
elastomeric material (bst HFE) with steel fittings (7), galvanized or high-grade, put into core holes
or pipes made from steel or plastic. Upon installation of cables they are sealed by Quick Fix TCM
Tolerance Cable Module (2) and Quick-Adapters (5). Reserve space for later cable installations is filled
by Quick-Core (4) or filler blocks FB (3). Re-usable multi insert modules MIM (6) and multi filler blocks
MFB enable a fast and simple assembly. By tightening the bolts (7) the plug seal is compressed so that
beside the fire-resistance also gas- and water-tightness is achieved.

The RR Plug Seal consists of an elastic, halogen-free, highly fire-resistant
elastomeric rubber (bst-HFE), with bolts and fittings made from galvanized steel, or
alternatively from high-grade steel A4, material 1.4571 (AISI 316Ti).
Bolts can be supplied optionally also with Nyloc nuts, galv. or high-grade steel.
In combination with Insert Modules (IM), Filler Blocks (FB) or Quick Fix Tolerance
Cable Modules (TCM) (see B3.IM.01 to B3.IM.04) this system provides the perfect
and flexible solution for the gastight, watertight and firesafe sealing of cables and
pipes in circular openings or steel sleeves.

Plug Seal Type RR-Vario
Design

cutting and can be adapted exactly to each sealing situation.

TCM (Tolerance Cable Modules) are made from an elastic, fire-resistant and halogen free elastomeric
material (bst HFE). They are ordered quite simply as “one piece each cable”. They are supplied as
slitted module plates (multi insert modules). Thus, assembly is highly facilitated but - if necessary -
modules can be torn off to be used as single piece. Only 6 different basis modules are required to seal
cables (or pipes) in diameters from 5 to 99 mm.

It is recommended to grease the bst rubber parts with bst Lubricant during assembly to facilitate in-
stallation. It also increases the sealing effect and prevents modules from sticking together in case they
are disassembled.

Plug Seal Type RRS
Design
The RRS Plug Seal consists of an elastic, halogen-free, highly fire-
resistant elastomeric rubber (HFE), with bolts and fittings made
from galvanized steel, or alternatively from high-grade steel.
RRS plugs have been developed for the sealing of individual cables
or pipes against fire, gas- and water pressure. By the already well-
proven Quick-Fix technology “TCM” (Tolerance Cable Module) the
RRS plug can be adjusted to the cable or pipe diameter in a quick
and simple way. Usable as sealing element in core holes, sleeved
pipes or casing plates.

Plug Seal Type RRS

The RRS system works on the principle of the well-proven Quick-Fix TCM technology (Tolerance Cable
Module). Each RRS plug will be delivered as a set, consisting of basic, adapter, ring-adapter and core,
in order to seal cables and pipes within the largest possible tolerance range without any additional
spares. All system parts are re-usable at any time. The different colours of the respective parts enable
a simple check of the correct assembly. With the RRS plug seal individual cables and pipes can be
sealed against fire, gas- and water-pressure in a simple and quick way.
