Activities
1. Teacher plays a video about the benefits that one can gain from being financially responsible.
2. The teacher then lists nine ways people can be responsible when it comes to financial
management. Students copy the information below on a piece of paper (Activity 1):-
 Get a part-time job.
 Wait for sales to buy things
 Identify my wants and needs
 Learn about investing
 Open a saving account
 Set savings goals
 Save some money every month
 Write down my expenditure
 Learn to compromise

3. Based on students’ opinions, the teacher asks them to rank the information on order of importance.
4. The teacher guides students to do the ranking in the shape of a diamond.
5. Pupils give reasons for their ranking.
6. Teacher asks pupils to write down their sources of income and the amount for a year (Activity 2).
7. Pupils list out their expected expenses for the year and calculate how much money they would have left
once those have been deducted.
8. In pairs, pupils justify their financial management.
