Program Introduction

In the era of mega-cities and rapid urbanization, outdated environmental

regulations are no longer sufficient. Governments and the public demand
greater environmental responsibility, emphasizing concepts like sustainability
and life cycle analysis.

ISO standards for Environmental Management Systems (EMS) reinforce these

ideas, requiring evaluation of facility impacts on the environment. To address
unforeseen environmental challenges, today's environmental engineers must
stay updated on scientific and technological developments.

M.Tech. Environmental Engineering, designed for professionals, enhances

expertise in Environmental Management Systems, focusing on proactive
pollution reduction and reactive pollution control using advanced technologies.

Experiential Learning
The programme prioritizes experiential learning,
enabling learners to apply classroom concepts in
simulated and real work scenarios through remote and
virtual lab exercises.

Virtual laboratory exercises enables learners to use

software’s/modeling tools to carry out simulations to obtain
the result of a particular experiment. Such exercises
provide an approximate version of the
real-world experiment

Case studies & Assignments

Carefully chosen real-world cases & assignments are both
discussed and used as problem-solving exercises during the
programme

Project Work
The fourth semester offers an opportunity for learners to apply
their knowledge gained during the programme to a real-world
like complex project. The learner is expected to demonstrate
understanding of vital principles learnt across semesters and
their ability to successfully apply these concepts

Continuous Assessment
The assessment includes graded assignments/quizzes,
mid-semester and comprehensive exam
