Task :
To verify Norton’s Theorem.

Objective :
We can find the Voltage across resistance using Norton theorem .

Apparatus :
1. Multimeter
2. DC Voltage 24V
3. DC Current 2mA
4. 4 Resisters (different values)
Theory :
From the fig, the Norton current is the current in the circuit of terminals
of a & b .
Although the Norton Resistance is the resistance of the circuit
connected in parallel with the Norton Current .

Procedure :
Norton Resistance :
1) Remove the load .
2) In circuit , Open the Current source and Short the Voltage
source .
3) Connect all the resisters with each other .
4) Place the Multimeter , and change the option to the ohm-
meter in Multimeter .
5) Run the Circuit find the Rnth
6) For Norton Current , remove the loads .
7) Go to Place Indicators and pick the Ammeter .
8) Run the Circuit which give the value of Norton Current .
9) Connect the load parallel with Norton Resistance and
Norton current .
10) Place the Voltmeter from the Place Indicators &
connect parallel and find the voltage drop across the load.
11) Run the Circuit .
Step 1 :
Find Current across 4kΩ.

Step 2 :
Find out Norton Current .
Step 3 :
Open the Current Source and Short the Voltage Source . Find out Thevenin
Resistance
Step 4 :
 Simplified Circuit of Norton Theorem .
Precautions :
Same as in the LAB 8 ;
1) The whole circuit will be Grounded because if the circuit is not
grounded the when we run the circuit it will show the error .
2) The Ohm-meter and volt-meter connected parallel in circuit .
