GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS FOR THE CHOIR COMPETITION

1. The competition is open for all students of Marcos National High School.
2. Each grade level must have one (1) choir representative.
3. There must be a minimum of 20 members and a maximum of 30 members.
4. The choir may sing in acapella or maybe accompanied by a live instrument or minus one. Pre-
recorded vocals are strictly prohibited during the competition.
5. The Official Contest Piece is Kumukutikutitap composed by Maestro Ryan Cayabyab.
6. The choir may do their own arrangement of the song as long as there is a variation in the
voices. Either two, three or four voices.
7. Costume and props are highly recommended.
8. The presentation is limited to 3-5 minutes only, including entrance and exit.
9. The criteria for judging will be as follows:

a. PERFORMANCE 50%
i. Tonal Quality
ii. Voice Production
iii. Improvisation/Instruments
iv. Uniqueness
v. Originality

b. MUSICIANSHIP 30%
i. Pitch
ii. Intonation
iii. Interpretation
iv. Dynamics
v. Timing and Rhythm
vi. Harmony

c. STAGE PRESENCE 20%

i. Audience Impact
ii. Stage Discipline
iii. Facial Expression
iv. Costume/Attire
TOTAL: 100%
10. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
