1. As a student, do you consider social media as a valid source of data for your
schoolwork? Why or why not?

Social media are interactive technologies that foster the growth and dissemination of
information, ideas, hobbies, and other forms of expression. However, using social media
as a reliable source of information for schoolwork is not recommended because some of
it may be falsified or manipulated. Books and articles from trusted sources are the most
reliable sources of data.

2. Does your school require you to use social media in your school work? Do you
think social media for school should be required? Why or why not?

The University of the East does not compel students to utilize social media for
schoolwork because it is not a reliable source.
3. One of the prevailing problems affecting students today regarding the use of social
media is cyberbullying. Do you agree or disagree? What measures do you think
school officials or parents should establish to address this problem?

Cyberbullying is a form of bullying or harassment that occurs through the internet.

Cyberbullying and cyber harassment are examples of online bullying. It has become
more common as the digital environment has increased and technology has advanced,
particularly among teenagers. I agree that cyberbullying is one of the most common
issues that students experience when using social media. Schools, in my opinion, should
support more initiatives that raise awareness about cyberbullying and how it affects its
victims.
4. From the points stated in the chapter, what can you contribute to further improve
the utilization of social media in education?
I might contribute to the advancement of social media in education by sharing relevant
content that I come across, such as articles, videos, and other resources. This will help
me and my colleagues stay up to date on the latest trends and developments in our field
of research. Furthermore, I can contribute to studies on the junction of social media and
education and share the results with my classmates. This can contribute to a greater
understanding of how social media can be used effectively in educational settings.
