Description of Works

Permanent Rectification of Black Spot TN-02-110 By Constructing a Small Vehicular

Underpass (SVUP) (1x7mx4.5m) at Km.175+550 (Iruvelpattu Junction) in Tindivanam -
Ulundurpet Section of NH-45 (New No. NH-38) in the State of Tamil Nadu on EPC mode
1) Construction of Six lane SVUP at Km.175/550 (1 X 7.00m X 4.50m) as per
approved drawing /cross section.
2) Construction of RE wall approaches in an aggregate length of 702 m (min.), and
convergence and divergence at the ends as per approved drawing /cross section.
3) Formation of approaches with RE wall using suitable material as per the approved
drawings and specification
4) Main carriage way for the approaches and divergence and convergence lengths at
the end using Sub Grade-500mm and minimum pavement thickness of GSB-
200mm, WMM-250mm, DBM-125mm, BC- 50mm.
5) Construction of service road / slip road on SVUP both sides in an aggregate length
of BHS (1720 m ) inclusive of acceleration & deceleration length as per standards
and specifications using Sub Grade-500mm and minimum pavement thickness of
GSB- 200mm, WMM-250mm, DBM-75mm, BC- 30mm.
6) Box Culverts at Km.175/225 shall be widened as per the approved drawings
7) Pipe Culverts at Km.175/647 shall be widened as per the approved drawings
8) Minor Bridges at Km.175/360 shall be reconstruction as per the approved drawings.
9) RCC drain shall be provided on both side of Length (LHS-798, RHS- 798 m for
SVUP as per approved drawings duly connecting to natural water course.
10) Road Furniture including Road markings, Kerb Painting, Studs, Hazard Markers,
Sign Boards, etc. as per IRC:35-2015 & IRC:67-2022.
11) Providing Street Lighting Twin Arm type 23 Nos. (min.) and 60W LED lights

12) New Jessy concrete barrier in center median.

14) Main carriageway & service road separator SVUP Portion 1380m length (690m
length on each side) - Construction of separator by providing a 150 mm compacted
granular sub base as per clause 401- and 75-mm thick cement concrete grade M15
including provision of all drainage arrangements but excluding kerb channel.
15) Road markings with Hot Applied Thermoplastic compound as per IRC 35-2015
(minimum- 1074 sqm).
16) Reflective Pavement Marker (Road studs) 956 -2015
17) Road delineators/ Hazard marker/ Object Marker as per IRC-67-2022
18) Sign board / Information board 10 -67-2022
19) Direction and Place Identification signs with size more than 0.9 sqm size board 8
as per IRC-67-2022
20) Kerb painting as per the specification.
21) BC 50mm over Deck slab of Minor bridge & SVUP and approach slab for wearing
coat.
22) Approach slab of 3.50m length on both sides.
23) Transplantation of avenue plantations 49
24) Other miscellaneous items as per approved drawings and standards.
25) Utility shifting: Electrical poles (HT/LT) lines and water pipe line shifting as per
approved estimate of Utility agencies.

Salient feature to be strictly adhered to during detailed design and construction of Light
Vehicular underpass at Km. 12/880

SVUP at Km.175/550- Box Type M35 grade concrete structure as per the drawing.
Reinforcement shall be provided as per the approved drawing/design
Wearing coat: 50mm thick bituminous concrete.
Minor Bridge at Km.127/510 - Box Type M35 grade concrete structure as per the
drawing. Reinforcement shall be provided as per the approved drawing/design
Box Culvert at Km.175/225 - Box Type M25 grade concrete structure as per the drawing.
Reinforcement shall be provided as per the approved drawing/design
