Point of Use Sodium dodecyl (lauryl) sulfate is an anionic surfactant, very common
as a detergent, alone or blended with other components, to remove
oily stains or fouling residues. Additionally it is considered generally as
safe ingredient for food industry, listed in USFDA, CFR 172.822 and it
is suitable for some pharma applications in liquid dispersions,
solutions, emulsions, tablets, creams, lotions, etc.
Handling and Storage Sodium dodecyl (lauryl) sulfate is slightly alkaline and should be
handled with all appropriate pre‐cautions, as mentioned in Material
Safety Data Sheet. However sodium dodecyl (lauryl) sulfate is not
considered dangerous and can be stored in a dry and cool ventilated
area.
