This document provides instructions to plot points on a map to identify the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and then asks two questions about whether hypothetical typhoons located at specific coordinates are within the PAR. It instructs students to plot coordinates from a table to mark the boundaries of the PAR on a map, connect the plotted points to outline the region, and states that PAGASA monitors tropical cyclones within this area. It then asks whether typhoons at 150N, 1380E and 19°N, 117°E would be inside the PAR.

Directions: Using the data given in the table, plot the following points on the map below (Figure 2). Use a pencil in plotting the PAR.
1. Connect the plotted points. The region within is the Philippine Area of Responsibility or PAR. It is the job of PAGASA to monitor all tropical cyclones that enter this area.
Q1. If the typhoon is located at 150N, 1380E, is it within the PAR?
