DSP is a Steel Processing plant located in Saldanha, Western Cape.

It is jointly owned by the IDC and a large Swiss-based multinational steel
company, Duferco International Trading Holding (DITH).

The following vacancy need to be filled:

SHIFT MILLWRIGHT
Duferco requires the services of an experienced and competent Shift Millwright within
the Engineering Department.

DURATION : Permanent Position

CLOSING DATE : 16 November 2023
DEPARTMENT : Engineering

The successful candidate will be accountable to the Electrical Engineer. To qualify for
this position the most suitable candidate must fulfill the following requirements:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Qualified artisan with red seal at N3 level or an Equivalent Qualification as per
the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and RPL - SAQA would be
considered. Any higher qualification would be an advantage.
• A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in an engineering and/or
manufacturing environment
• Instrumentation knowledge and experience a strong requirement.
• Must be extremely analytical with excellent fault finding skills.

Assist with engineering break downs.

Must be able to read and interpret technical, electrical and hydraulic drawings.

Day- to- day plant and preventative maintenance on electrical, instrumentation
and maintenance equipment and machinery.
• Ensure safe working conditions in plant in accordance with Health and Safety
procedures.
• Improve overall maintenance on plant equipment to ensure optimum availability.
• Involved in the smooth running and optimization of the plant.

In addition to the above the successful candidate must also have the following
attributes: Positive with energetic attitude; highly self-motivated; good
communicator; good “work ethic”; good faultfinding and problem solving skills, able to
work in a team as well as individually and must have sober habits, willingness to work
rotating shifts.
