A CONVERSATION AT THE AIRPORT
2023
*six friends meet at the airport, excited to start their trip together*

Fatima: (excited) I can't believe we're finally here at the airport! Our trip is going to be
amazing!
Fabian: Somehow we managed to coordinate everything to be here on time.
Yarixa: And look who's over there! Looks like we made it on time!
Fabian: Hello everybody! Looks like we're all here.
Nicol: Yes, we had some setbacks but at last we are all together!
Maribel:(walking closer) Girls! Have you seen all the stores yet? I can't wait to explore
them!
Nicol:Let's go shopping then!
Maribel: Look, there's a candy store there.
Yacila: Yes, let's buy to eat on the plane
Nicol: I'll get some candy bars and gummies.
Yarixa: That sounds delicious! You can also reach for some nuts and dried fruits for
healthier options.
Fatima: I think it's great. Also, we can look for a salty snack shop.
Nicol: I agree. And what if we look for a stone with drink options to keep us hydrated
during the trip?
Maribel: Good idea, Nicol! Yacila, what do you think about finding a store where we
can buy sweaters?
Yacila: Of course, Maribel! Also, we don't know what the weather will be like. Let's go
prepared!
Fabian: Looks like we have a good plan. Each one is in charge of searching in one of
these stores and then we get together.
Yarixa: Exactly! And let's make sure we have enough food for all.
Fatima: Great! So everyone goes to the store, see you later.
Nicol: Perfect!.... But... where will we meet again?
Maribel: What do you say if we meet at the boarding place?
Yacila: But, I think that's too far away from our front door.
Fabian: Yes, that's true, then it's better to meet in front of gate number 5.
Yarixa: Okay, we will meet you in 15 minutes.

*After shopping, they meet again*

Fatima: (looking at his watch) There's still a bit left for the boarding to begin. Why
don't we find a place to sit down and start planning our activities?
Nicol: Guys, when I was coming back from shopping I went through the seats and it´s
all taken.

Maribel: But, look over there! they are unoccupying the seats.
Yacila: Yes, I think it's time for those people to get on the plane.
Fabian: Come on, let's go fast, before other people beat us.
Yarixa: Thank goodness we hurried to take our seats, there were already more people
coming.
Fatima: (excited) Yes! I want to make sure I make the most of every moment of this
trip.
Nicol: Do you have the tourist guide?
Maribel: yes, yes we do, there are five places to go.
Yacila: Yes, we will start in Cuzco.
Fabian: I have seen many videos about Cuzco, it’s a beautiful place.
Yarixa: My aunt and uncle traveled to Cuzco last month and they brought some very
nice souvenirs.
Fatima: We could do the same, we could bring reminders of each place.
Nicol: I was looking for places where we could take photos and I found “"Stone of the
twelve angles"
Maribel: Yes, it is one of the most popular places in the heart of Cusco.
Yacila: I have heard of Q'enqo, Puka Pukara although they aren’t very visited.
Fabian: It's better, so there won't be people crossing our photos. We can also go to the
Inca trails and take some nice pictures.
Yarixa: The Sacred Valley of the Incas has too many majestics places, and not all of
them are temples.
Fatima: Don't forget the famous mountain of the 7 colors. I hope it is clear, because
sometimes it is cloudy and you can't see anything.

(PHOTOS OF THOSE PLACES)

Nicol: So which one do we go to first? All the places you mention are spectacular.
Maribel: We should start with the closest one, so we can't miss it.
Yacila: I think we should go first to Q'enqo, Puka Pukara, because nobody goes.
Fabian: Yes, I think the same.
Yarixa: Okey, get ready what you need.
Fatima: Are we all ready? The plane is waiting for us.
*They leave in the plane*
Nicol: Look at the scenery through the window! I can't help but smile with excitement
Maribel: We are about to explore Puka Pukara, it will be a unique experience, I'm
excited.
Yacila: What a thrill! I just watched videos that Puka Pukara has a fascinating story
Fabian: And this time I don't forget my camera,
Yarixa: We will take very good pictures with your camera.
Fatima: Guys, don't say anything, the emotion will be lost

*They reached Puka Pukara*

Nicol: Wow, Puka Pukara! It's amazing to see these ancient structures up close.
Maribel: It can be seen for miles. It is definitely worth the trip.
Yacila: Look at the architecture! It's amazing how they could build something like that
at that time.
Fabian: And here I am, taking photos like a professional photographer!
Yarixa: Every corner deserves to be captured from every angle.
Fatima: We cannot ignore the importance of preserving places like this. It is part of our
cultural heritage and we must take care of it.

*After 2 hours of being in puka pukara, they go to "The stone of the 12 angles"*
Nicol: The exploration at Puka Pukara was amazing! and now we are in the famous
"Stone of the twelve angles"
Maribel: Definitely! It is said to be an impressive example of the Inca skill in
construction.
Yacila: I hope we can learn more about its meaning
Fabian: Come, let's take a picture by the stone! It will be an incredible memory of this
trip.
Yarixa: The man with his camera and photos
Fatima: hahaha The stone looks like it's still preserved! Let's appreciate it in its
historical context and enjoy this experience.
Nicol: Did you know that it is an Inca stone that is 1 meter high and 1.20 meters long.
Maribel: Yes, it is also composed of green diorite volcanic stone.
Yacila: There are also reviews that tell us that this stone weighs approximately 6 tons.
Fabian: Wow! It’s incredible how our ancestors without the help of technology could
make such amazing things.
Yarixa: Did you know that the Stone of the 12 angles was part of the Palace of Inca
Roca? who left this site as an inheritance to his descendants.
Fatima: It is also known that when the Spaniards arrived they started the colonial
constructions on Inca walls.

*The next day they leave for the mountain of 7 colors*

Nicol: Guys! I see a lot to walk
Maribel: Yes Nicol, the hike up there can be challenging, but the views are totally
worth it.
Yacila: Definitely. And let's not forget...
Fabian: I know I know, the camera
Yarixa: Yes Fabian, but let's also bring some water
Fatima: yes, some water, I hope I can go up
Nicol: let's start walking
*After 4 hours they arrive*
Maribel: I am very tired; I want to rest for a while.
Yacila: Me too, but the effort is worth it.
Fabián: You are right, the view from here is beautiful.
Yarixa: It's a wonderful experience, we should repeat it.
Fatima: It is true, it is even more beautiful if we spend it in the company of our friends.
Nicol: I'm glad to be able to share these experiences with you, we needed to get
together.
Maribel: This is an anecdote that we will not forget, besides we have many photos to
remember it.
Yacila: Yes, Fabian spent a lot of time taking great pictures, now enjoy these moments
together, it's the best.
Fabian: Do any of you want some water?
Yarixa: Yes, please. I am very thirsty.
Fatima: I want to drink water too, but I'd better wait.
Nicol: Maribel, drink some water, that will make you feel better.
Maribel: Yes thanks, I feel better already.
Yacila: Now that I have rested a little and recovered my energy, I can go on.
Fabian: Good, now I think we are all better.
Yarixa: It’s a good time to continue.
Fatima: You are right, the break is over, let's continue with the route.

…And so it was, as these 6 friends continued their journey...
