Moderator: Assalamualaikum wr wb Thank you very much to my friends who have come
today I’m ………......... as a moderator for this debate today our debate topic now is about "The
usage of media social in school area".
Here there are two teams that have different opinions, Group A is the team who has support the
usage of media social in the school area and, Group B who denies it.
Without wasting our time here, we begin out debate, NOW!
According to Group A, What i's your opinion about the usage of media social in the school?

Affirmation Team (1A): As we know, in this digital era, distance and time is not a big obstacle.
Because through this media social, students are able establish learning community easily. in
this case, of course can raise skill and ability of students without worried about the differences
about distance and time.

Opposition Team (1A): I do not really agree with the statements from Affirmative team. The
fact is students will be easily trapped to other things besides learning. Furthermore, social
media will weaken social interaction amongst students in real daily life. They will be each busy
with gadgets and social media, and also do not care with their environments.

Affirmation Team (2): I would argue with the Opposition team’s opinion that social media
weakens the social interaction among students in their daily life. Actually, social media can
build students confident that they may not have in their real daily life. Through social media,
the students can make argumentations and get plenty of knowledges.
That thing, of course, will increase their self-confidence. Social media also add students’
knowledge. With social media, they also can interact with all of the people around the world.
In this era, there are so many available of platforms that are useful to support opinions and
exchange of minds to all of the people around the world.

Opposition Team (2): I would like to respon the statement from Affirmation team. Is it true
that the students who tend to be less courage in expressing opinions, will be able to build
confidence on social media. However, it is only on the social media. As we know, we are living
on the real world. Then what is it for? Moreover, those students’ become to be addicted to
social media, This matter of facts of course will bother the pattern of interaction among the
people in the real world.
As we see around us, the students’ that addict to the social media are hard to ask to communicate
because they do not have self-confidence and choose to communicate by using social media.
So that the students’ who are addicted to social media will choose to be quiet and do not interact
with other students’.
Affirmation Team (1B): Addicted to social media can be overcome by strict rules about the
time to access social media. Not only social media, there are many factors that can make
students’ addicted. However, it can be minimalized. Shortly, our team truly believe that the
usage of social media can have many positive impacts if it uses wisely. Such as add friends and
grow self-confidence. This will be realized by parents and teachers’ supervision.

Opposition Team (1B): Indeed, addicted of social media can be overcome by strict rules, but,
are you sure this thing can go in accordance with hope? In this case, we still hold that social
media usage makes negative impacts, because the students’ forgets the purpose of using social
media. Because that, social media also raise side bad effect. The students’ will be anxiety when
they do not access social media. Finally, they are busy with social media and forget they main
duties, that is studying.

Moderator: We have listened to a debate on the theme of “the usage of social media in the
school environment”. The conclusion is that indeed the usage of social media has a positive
and negative impact. Therefore, we must be able to limit this so that we can use social media
