Understanding Important Aspects of a Healthy Lifestyle

In an era filled with technological advancements and increasing busyness,

awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle is becoming a primary concern
for many individuals. A healthy lifestyle is not only a goal to extend lifespan, but
also to improve overall quality of life. Amidst the plethora of choices and
available information, people are faced with various challenges and confusion in
determining the right steps to achieve a healthy lifestyle. In the midst of the
popularity of healthy living, people often only focus on good eating habits and
healthy activities. They believe these two aspects are the key to achieving a
healthy lifestyle.” dengan baik dan tidak dilakukan perbaikan yang diperlukan
dapat menjadi kotor dan tidak higienis.
However, the writer think that the key to a healthy lifestyle is not only
seen in two aspects but needs to be seen from the overall daily activities
conducted. Another aspect that also influences lifestyle is financial management;
good financial management can lead us to a healthy lifestyle because wisely
controlling the money spent can limit unnecessary expenses that can lead us to an
unhealthy lifestyle. By limiting unnecessary expenses, we can have savings that
allow the use of money for more beneficial things, reducing the potential stress
when facing financial limitations. Another aspect is stress management; stress can
affect our mental and physical health. Therefore, keeping stress levels in check is
a priority. One way to do this is by allocating our leisure time to engage in our
hobbies regularly. By participating in enjoyable activities for ourselves, we can
maintain mental balance and prevent excessive stress. To make this happen, we
also need to have good time management. By having good time management, we
can schedule activities that are beneficial and align with our interests. This way,
we can create harmony between activities that benefit ourselves and enjoyable
activities.

In relation to this, the writer observes the lifestyles of students in class

X1.3 named Wulan and Perby, both of whom have unhealthy lifestyles. In
observing Wulan and Perby’s lifestyles, striking differences are apparent in their
eating habits and physical activities. Perby and Wulan often bring packed meals
from home, but Perby also frequently buys unhealthy foods such as spicy and
sweet snacks. Moreover, she rarely consumes vegetables, indicating an unhealthy
eating pattern. This contrasts with Wulan, who, despite having an unhealthy
lifestyle, meticulously maintains her eating habits, rarely buying food outside and
having a strong preference for vegetables. However, Wulan pays less attention to
her physical activities, preferring sleep over exercise. In contrast, Perby engages
in regular physical activities at least twice a week. But the writer realize, to
achieve a healthy lifestyle, regular exercise at least three times a week is
necessary. Thus, Perby’s activities are not sufficient to meet the criteria for a
healthy lifestyle.

Furthermore, their financial management shows shortcomings. Both

Wulan and Perby tend to struggle with controlling their expenses. Wulan tends to
be extravagant, particularly in buying cute items, while Perby prefers spending
her allowance on spicy and sweet foods she enjoys. Both students have their own
ways of managing stress. Wulan finds joy and stress relief in shopping for cute
items, while Perby feels comforted by consuming spicy and sweet foods.
However, even though they experience temporary happiness, these methods may
not be effective in managing stress in the long run.In terms of time management,
to observe how well they manage their time, it is crucial to see how they allocate
time between household chores, hobbies, and schoolwork. Perby may be able to
divide time between her hobbies and household chores, but she often
procrastinates school tasks until approaching deadlines. On the other hand, Wulan
tends to only engage in hobbies during leisure time, neglecting her school
assignments and household chores. Therefore, even though they have enjoyable
activities, they still need to improve their time management to balance their daily
activities more effectively.

Through observing their activities, the writer concludes that their lifestyles
tend to lean towards unhealthy habits. Although not all of their activities can be
categorized as unhealthy, when looking at the overall picture, there are significant
deficiencies in their lifestyles. This highlights the importance of considering all
aspects of activities in striving for a healthy lifestyle. This conclusion emphasizes
that achieving a healthy lifestyle requires awareness and attention to every aspect
of activities, whether it be dietary patterns, physical activities, financial
management, stress management, or time management. Thus, a healthy lifestyle is
not just about one or two specific elements but is the result of overall actions and
decisions made in daily life.
