1 SCOPE:
This standard provides the procedure and calculation of the scrap bridge allowance for the
press tools designed, developed and produced by XXX
2 APPLICATION:
Applicable to all ferrous sheet metals of less than 3 mm sheet thickness and more than 3
mm sheet used in XXX

This standard is developed based on Know-How and lessons learnt

5 SCRAP BRIDGE ALLOWANCE:
The Scrap bridge is required on the sheet metal during press tool blanking or other metal
cutting process when a standard stock material is used in the process. The minimum scrap
bridge provides maximum yield out put from the stock material. The below figure provides
details of Front, Rear, Edge and Pitch Scrap allowance on the stock material.
The Front scrap is the scrap bridge allowance provided close end to the operator
The Rear scrap is the scrap bridge allowance provided farther end to the operator
Edge Scrap is the Scrap Bridge allowance provided start of the coil or sheet during process
Pitch is the scrap bridge allowance provided between one part to other part during process
