is affixed permanently in conspicuous position at every electrical
installation exceeding 250V.
Display of “Danger notice” on every motor, generator,
transformer and other electrical panels.
Display of SOPs for working on electrical apparatus.

Do these SOPs take into account safety / address safety

precautions like discharge of electricity, stored energy, earthing,
coming in contact with adjacent live conductor or apparatus?

Has the area identified tools / tackles / devices (such as gloves,

boots, body harness, special ladders, earthing devices, line / high
voltage proximity tester, underground cable locator, hand lines,
RCD / ELCB testers etc.) required to carry out each and every job
related with electricity?

Is every Electrically operated travelling crane (gantry or EOT

crane) is provided with instant power cut-off switch at easily
accessible location.
Metal rails on which crane travels are electrically continuous and
earthed.

Whether flexible cables used for portable or transportable

equipment covered under the Regulation (like drills, grinder,
welding machines, transportable generator / transformers /
rectifiers etc), are heavily insulated and adequately protected
from mechanical injury?

In case of metal armored cables or cable protection by metallic

covering, does cover is in contact with frame of apparatus and
earthed?

Are all the cables used for single phase portable / transportable
devices three core type (Phase, neutral & earth)?

Are all the cables used for three phase portable / transportable
devices four core type (R-Phase, Y-Phase, B-Phase & earth)?

Are all street boxes or pillar containing circuits or apparatus are

having enclosures are physically located to prevent ingress of
water into them?

Fire-buckets filled with clean dry sand have been conspicuously

marked and kept in convenient situations in addition to fire
extinguishers suitable for dealing with electric fires at generating
stations, enclosed sub-stations and switching station.

Fire extinguishers are inspected / tested for satisfactory operation

and records maintained.
