Dear Sir:
As attached, I am submitting my project design, entitled “DIESEL POWER PLANT
DESIGN FOR BARANGAY BANTAYAN, DUMAGUETE CITY” as a partial fulfillment of my
requirements in the subject, Power Plant Design and Renewable Energy (ME 49).
This report consists of the design of the significant installations of the power plant together
with its respective capacities and plans. In addition, it includes the necessary calculations needed
to satisfy the parameters of the given design problem for this project.
I hope you find this report satisfying and acceptable.

Sincerely yours,

ABSTRACT
This paper presents the design of a diesel power plant intended to meet the electrical needs of
Barangay Bantayan in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. The proposed plant caters to 265
households with an estimated daily consumption of 3257.464 kW. A comprehensive design
includes generating units, operating schedules, machine foundation designs, a steel chimney, fuel
tanks, cooling tower pumps, and the layout of the power station building. The load requirements
are determined based on typical household activities, leading to a total energy generation of
3257.464 kW. Load curve and load duration curve analyses guide the selection of suitable
generating units, considering factors like load factor, operating schedules, and plant capacity.
Equipment specifications detail three types of diesel generators with varying power outputs. The
machine foundation design involves calculations for foundation dimensions, concrete mixtures,
and steel bar reinforcements, ensuring stability and durability. The proposed design aims to
provide a reliable and efficient power solution for Barangay Bantayan.
