TASK 5: ACTIVITIY 1
What is silent “e”

Silent “e” is found at the end the word. You do not say the “e” when you
read it. When you add an “e” to the word it changes the short vowel
sound to a long vowel sound. Let us look at the words below.

Read the words on the right hand side without silent ‘e’ and then read
the words on the left hand side with ‘silent e’
