Kindly read what is Korean music

Korea’s folk music tradition, with its

generous use of bright rhythms and
melodies offers a more energetic and
capricious contrast to the nation’s
collection of classical music works. Folk
music represents the soul and sound of
traditional Korean villages with an
eclectic array of music forms including
numerous folk songs, various forms of
instrumental pieces, pansori and shaman
ritual music.
What is their ritual music again?
Tha pansori and shaman sir

Yes! their Religious music class like the

Buddhist beompae and the music of shamanic
rituals are also part of the traditional Korean
music canon, adding a special diversity and
richness.

Which Pan means a place where many people

gather while sori meaning song. While the
shaman means a person who acts as
intermediary between the natural and
supernatural worlds, using magic to cure
illness, foretell the future, control spiritual
forces, etc.

Kindly read this class. Pansori (long vocal and percussive music
played by vocal singer and skilled
drummer) and talchum (mask dance),
rich in parody and humor; the majestic
court music played at important events at
the royal palace; and standard music
(called "jeongak" in Korean) like gagok,
yeongsanhoesang, and sijo that embody
the elegant, refined spirit of the seonbi
(intellectuals of the Joseon Dynasty).

Everyone kindly read the slide Chong-ak means literary right or correct
music and its traditions include both
instrumental and vocal music which were
cultivated mainly by the upper class
literati of the Joseon society. Chong-ak
also refers to ensemble music for men of
high social status outside of the court.

In this category the chong-ak has three

important terms, a-ak, tang-ak and hyang-ak.
What is this sog-ak kindly read everyone?

Sog-ak or minsogak a Korean music

associated with the lower classes or for
the general public and are vibrant and
energetic.
They sang this sog-ak when they work on the

rice paddy or fields, when they went off with
their lover, and sang when their life was
troubled and weighing them down.

On the other hand class, there are many songs

in the folk genres that do have sad tones.
Susimga, Yukjabaegi, Heungtaryeong, Sanjo,
Sinawi are all deeply sad songs that are
known to prompt an endless flow of tears

Yet at the same time the energetic and

contagious rhythms of these songs
compel the listener to get up and dance.
This is because the basic nature of the
Korean people is based not on "han"
(resentment, sorrow), but on "heung"
(excitement). Dancing to sad songs and
creating an energetic and upbeat mood
even while singing of life's sorrows is the
most attractive aspect of Korean
traditional music as well as the basis of
the Korean psyche and its sinmyeong.

These are some of the most prominent pieces

and folk music forms are follows. KindLy
read it.

They have here a folk song of Korea which

considered as their unofficial national
anthem.

What is this class? Kindly read? Arirang is used as a symbol of Korea

and Korean culture. Arirang in essence is
a song of farewell. The origin of the
word 'Arirang' is ‘the hill’. With Korea’s
land being mountainous, there are also
many foothills throughout the country.
Most Koreans had partings on a number
of such hills. An emotion of deep regret
is imbued in the rhythm of Arirang. The
song evokes the feeling of the tears shed
by Koreans and the remembrance of their
sad stories.

Kindly read the lyrics of arirang
