Activity No. 2. Research on the following:

1. What is the first history of the Philippines?


-The first history is the creation of the Laguna Copperplate Inscription in 900 . The
inscription records its date of creation in the year 822 of the Hindu Saka calendar,
corresponding to 900 AD in the Gregorian system. During this historical time period,
the Philippine archipelago was home to numerous kingdoms and sultanates and was
a part of the theorised Indosphere and Sinosphere

2. When did Philippines history begin?


-The history of the Philippines started between 900 and 1565 .

3. What is the most important Philippine history?


- When the Philippines declared itself an independent republic in 1898 and
Aguinaldo became its president, a significant milestone was reached in the struggle
against colonial rule in Asia.

4. Why Philippine history is important?


- Learning about the past of our nation is somewhat related to appreciating the
efforts and accomplishments of our national heroes. Additionally, it improves our
sense of nationalism and builds our sense of national identity.

5. Why is the Philippines called Maharlika?


- It was proposed to rename the Philippines "Maharlika" in 1978, citing the need
to honor the country's ancient heritage before the Spanish and Americans occupied
the country.
Maharlika is used to promote an authoritarian view of Filipino
nationalism under martial law, claiming that it referred to the ancient Filipino
nobility and included the kings and princes of ancient Philippine society.
