ESSAY: Answer the following statements/questions comprehensively. *Minimum of 3

sentences and maximum of 8 sentences only.

1. Do you think that Philippines should change its name? Why and why not?
 For me, the name Philippines should not be changed, the first of the reasons why the
name of the Philippines should not be changed is because it is already known for this
type of calling, second, the name Philippines has something to do with our history,
even if the substitute is dignified it still cannot match the recognition of the current
noun known as Pilipinas.
If we returned in History, the Philippines have been claimed withinside the call of
Spain in 1521 via way of means of Ferdinand Magellan, a Portuguese explorer
crusing for Spain, who named the islands after King Philip II of Spain.
They have been then referred to as Las Felipinas, by the 1830's Spanish lifestyle and
notion had penetrated into Filipino lifestyle to the volume that the Filipino human
beings started considering liberation from Spain.
Taking everthing into account, the reputable call has, however, modified all through
the direction of Philippine history, during the Philippine Revolution, the nation
formally referred to as itself República Filipina, now called the First Philippine
Republic. From the duration of the Spanish–American War and the Philippine–
American War till the Commonwealth duration, United States colonial government
mentioned the Philippines because the Philippine Islands, an instantaneous translation
of the unique Spanish. It changed into throughout the Third Philippine Republic while
the call Philippines started out to appear, a call that changed into formally adopted.
2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the Philippines as an archipelago? (Answer
in your own words, do not just ponder on what the article mentioned try to reflect and
think)

 The advantages of the Philippines as an archipelago is that it offers a diverse

natural resources specially when it comes to numerous varieties of fishes, myriad
fishermen are thankful because of that including me and my family, as a matter of
fact it is our means of living. The Philippines is also known as a source of pride
because of its world class beaches including tourist spots such as the world
famous Boracay and others world class beaches, there are many reasons for
Filipinos to be glad and proud of belonging to the Philippine archipelago.
When it comes to its disadvantages, those that are located in the far mountainous
provinces the Philippines government is not able to help nor fully support,
especially when it comes of transporting goods from one area to another.
In conclusion, defending the country also becomes difficult due to the numerous
entries and exit points, which partly explains why the Philippines was colonized
in the past. The country's archipelagic orientation makes it a frequent predator of
strong and devastating typhoons, which occasionally cause massive flooding.

3. Upon reading the whole module, what are your realizations and reflections regarding the
structure and treasure of the Philippine Archipelago?

 A basic understanding of the geographic orientations of the country gives our

country's past a deeper meaning and appreciation, therefore, meaning is based on
the fact that geography leads to the development of a sense of place.
Develop site skills and understand the importance of the location, understand the
interaction that takes place between humans and the natural environment over
time, understand the reasons for the motivations and importance of human
migration; and understanding of the region of the world and the interrelated
effects of cultural and global interdependence.
I also realized that we should be prouder and give more importance to the
Philippines because its wealth is no joke, from the 7,107 islands and the various
beautiful tourist spots that can only be found here in the Philippines.
The Philippines is blessed with various landforms. Mount Apo in Mindanao is the
highest peak at approximately 2,954 meters and the Sierra Madre is the longest
continuous mountain range.
It begins in the city of Baler in the eastern part of the province of Quezón and
crosses the provinces of Cagayán, Isabela and Quezón in apart from mountains
and hills, there are 26 active volcanoes and others in rest or sleeping Mayon and
Taal are the most famous active volcanoes. Mayon is known "for its perfect cone
shape.
Apart from the above-mentioned landforms, there are numerous landforms as
well as forms of water that the Philippines has, those are just some of the
aforementioned resources of our country the Philippines and if we put them
together we may not finish so we really should appreciate it more, love and take
