EXPLANATION
Complete this lab as follows:

These steps follow Microsoft's best strategy for combining NTFS permissions, which is to first apply the least restrictive share permissions and
then to add more restrictive NTFS permissions. For example, you first assign the Everyone group the Full Control (Read/Write) share
permission for the shared folder. You then assign more restrictive NTFS permissions to control the desired access.

1. Access the folders on the D:\ drive.

a. From the taskbar, select File Explorer.
b. From the left pane, select This PC.
c. From the right pane, double-click Data (D:).
2. Configure share permissions for the D:\Finances folder.
a. Right-click Finances and then select Show more options.
b. Select Give access to > Specific people.
c. Using the drop-down menu, select the Everyone group and then select Add.
d. Select the Everyone group and then select Read/Write.
e. Using the drop-down list, select Find People.
f. In the Enter the object names to select field, type Accounting and then select OK.
g. Select Accounting and then select Read/Write.
h. Select Share.
i. Select Done.
3. Configure share permissions for the D:\Graphics folder.
a. Right-click Graphics and then select Show more options.
b. Select Give access to > Specific people.
c. Using the drop-down list, select the Everyone group and then select Add.
d. Select Everyone and then select Read/Write.
e. Select Share.
f. Select Done.
4. Configure NTFS permissions for the D:\Finances folder.
a. Right-click Finances and then select Properties.
b. Select the Security tab.
c. Select Advanced to modify inherited permissions.
d. Select Disable inheritance.
e. Select Convert inherited permissions into explicit permissions on this object.
f. Select the Everyone group and then select Remove to remove the group from the access control list.
g. Select Users and then select Remove.
h. Select OK to close the Advanced Security Settings for Finances dialog.
i. Select OK to close the Finances Properties dialog.

Because the Give access to > Specific people option was used to add Accounting to the share, that group is already in the
ACL and has the Allow Full Control NTFS permission.

5. Configure NTFS permissions for the D:\Graphics folder.

a. Right-click Graphics and then select Properties.
b. Select the Security tab.
c. Select Edit to change permissions for a group.
d. Select the Everyone group.
e. Under Permissions for Everyone, clear Full control, Modify, and Write.
f. Select Add to add a group.
g. In the Enter the object names to select field, enter Marketing and then select OK.
h. With Marketing selected, select Modify. (Leave all other existing permissions as-is.)
i. Select OK to close the Permissions for Graphics dialog.
j. Select OK to close the Graphics Properties dialog.
