Site Plan Of Ashikaga Flower Park
The Ashikaga Flower Park first opened in 1968 under the name
“Hayakawa Farm” in Ashikaga in Japan. In 1997, it was relocated and
now spans 94,000 square meters (23 acres).
During that relocation, something unthinkable happened. A 130-year-
old wisteria tree was uprooted and transplanted in the new
location. Now over 150 years old, this Great Wisteria still stands
and symbolizes the park itself. Spanning over 1,000 square
meters, this tree was designated as a national monument by the
Tochigi Prefecture. It was also named one of the “Top 10 World
Dream Destinations” in 2014.

In addition to this amazing natural wonder, one can experience

an 80-meter tunnel of white wisteria or yellow Kibana,
thousands of azaleas, hundreds of other flowers, and winter
lights. The flowers themselves are also illuminated at night,
providing a truly otherworldly experience.
The main attraction of this flower park is the great
wisteria tree(150 years old). This Is The Most Beautiful
Wisteria Tree In The World. This stunning wisteria tree
has wandered straight out of a fairytale.

The magical tree – a variety of Wisteria floribunda nicknamed

‘Domino’ – stretches across more than 600 meters of trellis
installed to support the weight of its branches and blooms. Come
nightfall, bespoke lighting illuminates the tree perfectly, and makes
the spectacle all the more awe-inspiring. Though a trip to Japan to
stand beneath the canopy of flowers is out of the question right
now, this lovely little video should give you a taste of what it’s like
to see the wisteria tree in all its glory.

The branches are supported by steel frame structure and from this
structure the branches are hanging. The flowers are hanging
below the structure, which is giving a beautiful look to the garden.
Also it is creating a shaded area there.
