examples while maintaining a coherent narrative structure. It requires the writer to not only showcase
their creativity but also to adhere to the conventions of academic writing.

One of the difficulties stems from the diverse expectations of college-level essays. The audience,

Confucianism: feudal system was wanted. They seem to have believed that although the
gods existed and worship and rituals were of value in bringing people together, these
things were of secondary importance to an equitable social order. They strongly believed
in government and that society needed an elaborate structure, reinforced by etiquette in
order to be effective.
Tao Te Ching: This book was written as a polemic against the Confucians and Legalist
who wished for either an idealized form of feudalism or some strong central

the book was that all human achievements were folly, especially elaborate government.
This book was written by Lao Tzu in 6th century B.C.E because the gate keeper tried

Identity Issues In House On Mango Street By Sandra Cisneros
In the story House on Mango Street written by Sandra Cisneros, the narrator Esperanza
faces serious identity issues. These issues revolve around her self esteem, social
status, and ethnicity. A good way to describe Esperanza and her issues is a red balloon
tied to an anchor. The anchor is herself, and the balloon is what she wants to be, and
she s holding herself down. In the chapter Boys and Girls Esperanzas says Until then I
am just a red balloon, a balloon tied to an anchor. Esperanza is the anchor, and the
balloon is what she desperately wants to be or have. But due to the era this story takes
place in, she battles racial issues, identity and self esteem issues, along with loneliness.
All these negatives just add more and more weight... Show more content on

But she is a very lonely person, she can t seem to find someone who fully understands
her. She was alone in the monkey garden, she was alone at the fair, she was just alone.
After Lucy left the picture, Sally came in. Esperanza basically was in Aw over Sally,
wanting to know how Sally did her eye makeup, where Sally got her jacket and nylons
from and if they were expensive. In that chapter the reader really sees Esperanza trying
to be someone different than herself. Sally eventually became Esperanza s best friend,
the one she was waiting for. The Monkey Garden, Sally was waiting outside looking
mad because some punk kids stole her keys. The boys were there with Sally, and
Esperanza felt out of place. She wanted to be with the other kids, it didn t feel right to
be in this group. Somethings went down, and Esperanza was really just out of it. She
was back in the Monkey Garden, under a tree wishing it could all just end. She felt
alone under the tree, I looked at my feet in their white socks and ugly round shoes.
They seemed far away. They didn t seem to be my feet anymore. And the garden that
had been such a good place to play didn t seem to be mine either. Esperanza felt so
completely alone in this moment, so alone she wanted her life to end. She felt so out of
place in the world. She felt that the garden, her special place, wasn t even hers anymore.

Screening and Cloning Of Bacterial β Glucosidase Gene That Can Degrade Salicin from
NIF and Virulent Bacteria

Abstract
Two β glucosidase genes in Rhizobium leguminosarum bv. Trifloii able to utilize
Salicin. SamI fragments (2 and 3 kbp) from Rhizobium leguminosarum bv. Trifloii
were expressed in E. coli HC1061. Transformed clones with β glucosidase activity were
selected by using Congo Red stain plate assay. Restriction enzyme analysis of
recombinant plasmid indicated that the positive clones were contained the 2 and 3 kbp
DNA inserts. The E. coliHC1061 transformed with 2 or 3 kbp fragment ... Show more

Two types of pattern were obtained, the relative ability of each gene to cleave coniferin
was assessed. Clones containing Agrobacterium tumefaciens B3/73 DNA rapidly and
completely hydrolyzed coniferin to coniferyl alcohol. Over the same period, type 2
clones were completely inactive. The different substrate specificities of clones were also
evident from their ability to grow on cellobiose Agrobacterium tumefaciens B3/73 was
able to use cellobiose as the sole carbon source. Escherichia coli DH5α and type 1 clones
were not able to grow on cellobiose. Other clones were able to utilize cellobiose, but
grew very slowly (Linda et al., 1992). The 5.7 kb HindIlI fragment common to all type
1 clones was purified and ligated into pBR322. Clones with inserts in either orientation
were able to cleave X glucose, indicating that the entire β glucosidase gene was
probably located within this insert. An EcoRI, BamHI, BglII, and PstI restriction map
of the insert showed that a 3.5 kb BamHI PstI fragment with an internal PstI site was
found to have the activity to cleave X glucose when cloned into pUC19. The sequence
surrounding the EcoRI site in the pUC19: 3.5 kb BamHI PstI clone and the sequence
were done. (Linda et al., 1992). Woodward and Wiseman (1982) reported that there are
two constitutive, β glucosidase genes in Agrobacterium
General Motors Organizational Transition
General Motors Organizational Transition

General Motors was founded by William Durant on September 16th, 1908. General
Motors (GM) is an American based automobile manufacturing company. From its
inception, GM has grown from a small Detroit, Michigan manufacturing plant to one of
the top three auto manufacturers in America and the world s second largest. GM has
manufacturing plants in 35 countries and sells in over 200 countries. Throughout the
years, recognizable brand names such as Oldsmobile, Opel, Cadillac, Pontiac and
Chevrolet have become a part of GM. The company has branched out into the aviation
and financial lending fields as well. Recent economic meltdowns have affected GM to
point of bankruptcy in 2008. It took an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In turn, each group of four or five teams has the support of a group leader. In addition,
each person is a member of a team assigned to perform specific tasks. Each team
member is cross trained for each other s job. Inherent in this process is everyone helps
everyone. The whole focus, the entire focus, of GMS is to support the operator, said
AM General President and Chief Executive Officer, James Armour. So far, AM General
has spent $35 million on more than 177,000 hours of training for employees.
The plant(s) implementing the GMS model show more confidence in the workers. On the
assembly line there are cords for each station in the event that a worker feels that there
is a problem, he or she can stop the line at his or her discretion to correct the problem.
The assembly lines are designed more ergonomically. Other plants use the straight line
assembly model where workers have to reach the line either by differing platform heights
or outright reaching from the ground. The new plant has the assembly line rolling along
for different heights for each portion of the production needed in that placement.
Employees have more control over their life on the job. This has been leading to less
management/labor disputes . The plant has a three step grievance system and as of yet,
no grievance has gone further than the first step.
Not all plant employees who have been offered a transfer to the new GMS model have
not been interested in a transfer. For some people the
Accounting Practices For The Market Valuation
INTRODUCTION: In current scenario, many corporate firms have some issues due to
change in accounting practices for the market valuation. Change in financial management
for market valuation has been failed and brings the notion of three different entities;
accountability, representation and control. So, in this essay I have taken AMAZON
company and yet to discuss about their accounting practice which influence the market
valuation. In addition, issues of accountability, representation and control also to be
discussed briefly in accordance with their accounting practice.

ACCOUNTING: The process of observing and providing the financial statistics of an

organisation which is useful for customers for managing and to create economic
decisions. The process of identifying, measuring and communicating financial
information about an entity to permit informed judgements and decisions by users of
information. (McLaney and Atrill, 2002:1). Accounting data is unbiased and neutral,
which helps to determine the level of excellence and different factors that influence the
company s performance. This point has been explained clearer by (Ezzamel Willmott,
2004:784) Accounting information is an impartial and neutral representation data, which
is correctly used, can reduce unwanted ambiguities and can reduce waste in organizing
supplies . The three main financial statements are the balance sheets, the profit or loss
account and the cash flow statement. Hence, with these types of
Advantages Of The CAPM Assumption
CAPM Assumptions

The CAPM is often criticized for being unrealistic because of the assumptions on which
it is based, so it is important to be aware of these assumptions and the reasons for
criticizing.

The assumptions are the following

Investors with diversified portfolios

This assumption implies that investors only require a change in the systematic risk of
their portfolios, since unsystematic risk has been removed and can be ignored.

Single period horizon transaction

A standard maintenance period is assumed by the CAPM for comparable yields
different values. One more than six months, for example, can not be compared with a
yield of more than 12 months. A holding period of one year is generally used.

Investors can borrow and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the business risk of the investment project is different from the organization of
investment, the CAPM can be used to calculate a rate discount for a specific project. The
procedure for this calculation was covered in the second article of this series (specific
discount rates project, Student Accountant, April 2008).

The advantage of using a CAPM project Derivatives specific rate of discount is

illustrated in Figure 2 Using the CAPM will lead to better investment decisions than the
use of the WACC in the two shaded areas, which can be represented by the projects A
and B.

Project A would be rejected if WACC was used as discount rate, because the internal
rate of return (IRR) of the project is less than the WACC. This investment decision is
not correct, however, since the project A would be accepted if a CAPM the discount
rate derived for specific projects is used because the project IRR is above the SML.
The project offers a larger than necessary to compensate for the level of systematic risk,
and accept that it will increase shareholder wealth
