>>> Cardiff, Wales: A Great Green City
NEWS ARTICLES TRAVEL

Welcome back to my blog! Today I am going to tell you a few things

about Cardiff and how the city is helping the environment.
Cardiff is visited by more than 18 million tourists every year. It is one of
the safest and most peaceful cities in the UK. But now, Cardiff has got
another goal: to be the greenest city in the UK.
Cardiff is one of the cleanest cities in the UK. Dropping litter on the
streets is a serious crime, and people must pay a heavy fine if they do it.
Rubbish is collected daily, and more than 60% of it is recycled.
In an eco-friendly city like Cardiff, it’s easy to get around on foot or by
bike. The city has created several cycling lanes. It has also worked hard
to improve its motorways, so the roads are never crowded and traffic
jams are rare. If you are driving to Cardiff, you can leave your car at one
of many Park and Ride sites and take the bus into the city.
In the city centre, there are many shops, restaurants, indoor markets
and museums. I recommend the Boiler House Grafitti Project, an art
gallery with great street art. Exciting workshops for children and adults
are offered there regularly. If you are interested in history, you can cycle
from there to Cardiff Castle. This impressive building is made of stone. It
was built by the Romans almost 2,000 years ago. Many families have
lived there over the centuries, but today the castle is used as a tourist
attraction.
And the future of Cardiff looks very green. Last year, the construction of
several eco-friendly neighbourhoods was approved. These residential
areas will offer modern homes using only solar energy. On your next
holiday to the UK, don’t forget to include Cardiff in your itinerary!
