Compare And Contrast Essay Example

Writing a compare and contrast essay can be a challenging task that requires careful analysis, critical
thinking, and effective organization of ideas. The difficulty arises from the need to examine two or
more subjects, identify their similarities and differences, and present these findings in a coherent and
compelling manner.

Firstly, selecting suitable topics for comparison demands thoughtful consideration. Finding subjects
that share meaningful similarities and differences can be a time-consuming process. Once chosen,
delving into the details of each subject requires thorough research to ensure accuracy and depth in the
comparison.

The structure of the essay adds another layer of complexity. Crafting an effective introduction that
captures the reader's attention while providing context for the comparison is crucial. The body
paragraphs must present clear and concise analyses of each subject, emphasizing both similarities and
differences. This often involves toggling between the subjects, creating a seamless flow of ideas.

Additionally, maintaining a balance between the two subjects is essential. Some essays may tend to
focus more on one aspect, risking an imbalance in the comparison. Striking this equilibrium requires
careful consideration of the significance of each point of comparison and its relevance to the overall
thesis.

The conclusion should synthesize the key findings without introducing new information, leaving a
lasting impression on the reader. Summarizing the main points while highlighting the broader
implications of the comparison can be challenging, requiring a skillful blend of conciseness and
insight.

In conclusion, writing a compare and contrast essay demands a combination of research, analytical
skills, and effective writing. Balancing the complexities of topic selection, research, and structure can
make this task challenging for many students. However, with careful planning and attention to detail,
crafting a compelling essay on this topic is certainly achievable.

Key Elements Of Political Democracy
A government by the people, for the people of the United States. The word traces back to
the Greek word demos meaning people and krater, meaning power . Political democracy
is one of the major elements of American freedom. Owning property was a key element
in the political movement and environment. Some states restricted the voting rights of
the poor who did own property. In 1850, the constitutional convention changed the law. It
stated that the personal independence necessary in the citizen now rested, not in the
ownership of property, but ownership of oneself.
In October 1844, proponents of the democratic reform, organized a peoples
convention, which drafted a new state constitution. It enabled all white adult men, and
eliminated blacks entirely. A new reform gave blacks the right to vote. Thomas Dor,
governor of Rhode Island was mainly responsible for blacks not being able to vote, by
a movement he pushed, which allowed only white males that qualified could vote.
President Tyler sent troops to Rhode Island where Governor Dor was arrested and sent
to prison for two years with charges of treason. This prompted legislature to eliminate
the law that only white property owners could vote. In the early 1830 s Alex Tocqueville
, a French historian and politician wrote the holy cult of freedom , he encountered on his
own visit to the United States. His key insite was; democracy meant far more than the
right to vote, or a particular set of instructions. It was a habit of
Short StoryFly Away Home, By Eve Bunting
A wise person once said, Being strong doesn t mean you ll never get hurt. It means even
when you get hurt, you ll never let it defeat you. This quote relates to the short story Fly
Away Home, by Eve Bunting. In this story, a young boy named Andrew lives in an
airport with his father, while living there Andrew shows us that it is important to stay
strong through tough times.

In the beginning of the story, being strong through tough times comes up a lot. In one
instance in the story, Andrew couldn t talk with the people he knew at the airport
because they could get him noticed. This shows that he stayed strong because it s
really tempting to talk to people you know and carry on conversation with them, but
Andrew had to choose his way of life over pleasure and decide he would rather not be
noticed over having friendship. This would be a big challenge for most of us, but
Andrew stayed strong through it. In addition, because Andrew lived in an airport, he
had to sleep sitting up because he had no bed. This is important because not only is it
difficult to sleep sitting up, but it s even tougher to have no hope of getting a real bed.
Andrew had no hope of getting a bed because he and his father couldn t even afford a
home, so there wasn t really any chance of Andrew getting a real bed at that moment.
Furthermore, Andrew stayed strong when he saw everyone leaving to go home when he
stayed at the airport. Strength is shown here because Andrew must have known these
people were
Identify the stages of a series of counselling sessions...
1 .1 Identify the stages of a series of counselling sessions The beginning The beginning
of the counselling process starts when the client first meets the counsellor, the saying
first impressions count is absolutely true for both the client and counsellor, the client
will be very nervous and unsure what is about to take place. The way the counsellor
approaches the client in this infant stage is vital for the client to gain trust and has the
willingness to open up in later sessions. Some clients may just rush into what is troubling
them or say nothing, in both cases the counsellor will need to be patient, observe and
listen to what is being said as there will be vital information given and without
understanding this it could damage... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
1.2 Evaluate the importance of an appropriate opening of a series of sessions In my
opinion the beginning of the counselling session is one of the most important stage of
the process, the client will be very nervous and will not fully trust the process they are
about to embark on, their unknown journey they will be nervous. The Client may hold
back what they are feeling until they have gained the trust of the counsellor, and know
they are safe and in a confidential environment. Another important factor in the opening
stage is to draw up a contract and discuss the content with the client, this will
demonstrate it s a working relationship and both the client and counsellor will know
their barriers, it also gives structure and prevents any misunderstanding in the
relationship. By having a contract it demonstrates to the client they are safe and able to
speak freely also it shows the client that each session if totally confidential, there are
exceptions to the rule and these will be included in the contract and what the process
will be if they disclose anything that is unlawful. Having unconditional positive regard
from the beginning will display to the client there is no hidden agenda and that the
counsellor is non judgmental, this will support the client to develop the working
relationship and show the client they are valued and wanted, they will start to relax to
open up freely and loosen up their attitude towards the session. 1.3
