Ans.

a) Outcomes of teaching the language subject: The main aim of my eclectic method is to foster
communicative competence in the target language. I want my students to develop strong speaking,
listening, reading, and writing skills, along with cultural awareness and intercultural communication
abilities. Fluency, accuracy, and confidence in real-life communication will be key outcomes.

b) Guiding principles in the choice or conduct of:

1) Teaching method, techniques: In my eclectic approach, I will choose teaching methods and
techniques based on the needs and preferences of my students. I will draw from various
methods, such as communicative language teaching, task-based learning, and the direct
method, selecting the most suitable for each learning objective and context. Flexibility and
adaptability will be essential.

2) Instructional materials: I will utilize a wide range of instructional materials to cater to

different learning styles and preferences. Authentic materials like newspapers, articles, videos,
and podcasts will provide real-world language practice. Course books, online resources, and
multimedia platforms will complement my eclectic approach, offering diverse content for varied
learning experiences.

3) Assessment: My assessment approach will focus on evaluating students' overall language

proficiency and communicative abilities. I will use a combination of formative and summative
assessments, including performance-based tasks, presentations, written assignments, and oral
exams. I will also incorporate self-assessment and peer assessment, encouraging students to
reflect on their progress and engage in meaningful feedback.

4) Manner of relating to students: Creating a positive and supportive learning environment is

crucial. I will establish a student-centered approach, fostering a sense of collaboration and
respect. Building rapport, active listening, and understanding individual needs will be my
priority. I will encourage open communication, provide constructive feedback, and promote
learner autonomy.

5) Handling students' mistakes: Mistakes are learning opportunities! In my eclectic method, I

will encourage a safe and non-judgmental learning space where mistakes are embraced. I will
provide corrective feedback in a constructive manner, helping students understand and correct
their errors. I will also encourage self-correction and peer correction, promoting a culture of
continuous improvement.
