THE EFFECTS OF TRANSPORTATION ISSUES

TOWARDS THE TRANSPORT EXPERIENCE OF
GRADE 10 STUDENTS OF RIZAL HIGH SCHOOL
INTRODUCTION

Public transport also known as public transportation, public transit, mass

transit, or simply transit. The Philippines is equipped with various modes of transport
suitable for different budgets and needs. Public transport in the form of buses,
jeepneys and tricycles, while domestic flights are common routes for travelers who
wish to explore more of the country.

However, in the present, public transportation strikes have become more

common causing temporary interruptions on some parts of the country and thus
halting some processes of the economy. The year 2023 ended in the Philippines with
several transport groups holding nationwide protests aimed at pressuring the
government to reconsider its program that will lead to the phaseout of jeepneys.
Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista has allayed fears of transport workers that
traditional jeepney units will be immediately phased out with the implementation of
the public utility vehicle (PUV) modernization program. The Department of
Transportation said that traditional jeepneys can still operate and ferry commuters as
long as they are “road worthy” and that the transition to modern jeepney units will
take time.

and the scholastic endeavors of students, shedding light on the potential disruptions
and impediments that may arise in their educational journey. By unraveling this
intricate tapestry, we aim to gain insights into how overcoming transportation
obstacles is integral to fostering an environment conducive to optimal
