TITLE OF THE PROPOSED STUDY: THE EFFECT OF PUBLIC
TRANSPORTATION TO THE STUDENTS

- One of the things Filipinos value the most is education. It is considered a

treasure that can never be stolen from anyone because it is a jewel engraved in
a person's mind. Because of this belief, many Filipinos venture into public
transportation and traffic on a daily basis to study, causing them to wake up
early and get ready. Effects of adventure that students do to achieve the desired
education, many of them experience obstacles to their daily life just like
academic stress made worse by their responsibilities aside from being a student
such as budgeting their daily expenses and fare so that it fits into their
allowance.

This study discusses the implications of public transportation and traffic to

young people who travel a long distance to study. This research is unique
because it focuses only on chosen students who are in grade 11 Socrates of
Davao Doctors College, students who are entering the race of public
transportation and traffic on a daily basis. The researchers believe that through
this study, we will be able to present and provide important information that
will help the development of each student in the said grade experiencing the
same problem, when it comes to expanding their understanding about the
situation they are in so that this can be used to guide them in their daily lives.
Also, through this study, other sectors and the experts will get ideas to think of
proper measures that will help to the psychological, physical, and emotional
needs of the students.

The students at Davao Doctors college come from different places which means
there are students who have to leave early at their respective houses to get to
class on time. The presence of traffic is unavoidable especially in our area/city
where the road is very crowded and there are many private vehicles. Many
students and teachers find it difficult to commute every day because as time
goes by more people are using public transportation. This study aims to find
out the effects of public transportation and traffic on selected students who are
in grade 11 Socrates of Davao Doctors College.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE

The major objective of our research: To know how Public transportation affects
the chosen grade 11 Socrates student in Davao Doctors College. To find
efficient ways to prevent being late to class. To gain more knowledge on how we
can ease dealing with road traffic in the chosen grade 11 Socrates Student's
everyday life.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Living In the City of Davao with almost 3 million population rate it's reasonable
to encounter loads of conflict on the road. Even though a lot of Public
transportation running around the City, Chances of getting late on your specific
errands is highly possible. Especially to those students who lived far from
Downtown. We all know that the main rival on the road is the traffic. We can't
predict the flow of the road, there are times that it's bearable and most of the
time it's troublesome. Most Students in Davao Doctor's College live far from the
School and they obviously need to ride a Public transportation to arrive at
school on time. Even those students who live near the school have a hard time
finding public transportation especially in the morning, not to mention the
traffic they have to deal with. We researchers would like to conduct a survey
form for the chosen grade 11 Socrates students in Davao Doctor's College who
lived both far and near from the School and have to ride Public transportation
on how it affects them every day.

RESEARCH DESIGN

The research Design that the researcher uses is the observational design, this
enables us researchers to see our subjects make choices and react to situations
in their natural setting, as opposed to structured settings. Our subjects are the
grade 11 Socrates students in Davao Doctor's College which makes the
researchers easy to observe their subject in their natural setting.

RESPONDENTS

This study will be conducted only within the private institution of Davao
Doctor's College General Malvar St. Poblacion District, Davao City, 8000 Davao
Del Sur. We researchers chose this institution to collect enough data and
information that can be used to answer the problem we want to discuss. The
respondents of this research are the students who are in grade 11 of Davao
Doctor's college in the academic year 2022. These students live in remote areas.
INSTRUMENT

The instruments that will be used in this study are questionnaires or survey
questionnaires that can reveal the experiences and changes or effects in the
lives of senior high school students due to their residence being far from their
school. The researchers will use a questionnaire to gather meaningful data. But,
they can also gather data and information that will help them from the internet
and other useful resources related to their studies. Researchers will distribute
surveys to senior high school students in Davao doctor's college. They will also
carefully and properly explain the importance of answering questions correctly
and honestly. The answers collected by the researchers from the respondents
will be carefully interpreted.

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

Each participant's exact response will be recorded and noted by the researchers
as part of the data gathering procedure. Following the data collection, we will
listen intently to each response provided by the respondent and thoroughly
understand it. Each response will be examined and observed to determine if
any patterns emerge that might be useful for our data collection.
