BASIC DESIGN FOR EBS OILFIELD
EBS PETROLEUM COMPANY LIMITED [OWNER] has developed East Baghdad South Oilfield
(EBS Oilfield). EBS Oilfield is located in the 14km of north-eastern Baghdad, the capital
of Iraq, 70km northwest of Ahdeb oilfield. The oilfield extends about 60km in the NW-
SE direction and 12km in the SW-NE direction. The concession of EBS oilfield covers 658
km2.
EBS oilfield is located in the agricultural area of alluvial plain formed by Tigris and
Euphrates Rivers, 30~40m above sea level. Tigris River is close to the northern part of
the field located in an agricultural area with some villages. The transportation is
convenient, an expressway which joins Baghdad and Basra passes by the oilfield.
Except for a few old wellheads, EBS oilfield is completely new to be developed.
According to preliminary development plan, EBS oilfield plans to be comprised of 134
new wellheads (76 oil wellheads and 58 water injection wellheads), 7 OGMs, 1 FPF and
1 CPF. In addition, produced water system, water injection system and the supporting
utilities and infrastructural facilities are required to be developed for the oilfield. The
oil production is estimated to reach 40,000 BOPD.
The main facilities include FSF, FPF, CPF, EXL. FSF is comprised of 134 wellheads and 7
OGMs in the scope of oil field development. CPF receives and processes all the fluid in
2 oil process trains with a total normal capacity of 48,000BOPD and a total peak
capacity of 60,000BOPD.
Fluid from S2 block is firstly routed into FPF for gas & liquid separation, and then, the
wild crude and associated wet gas is sent to CPF separately.
CPF will be built in the south of S2 block, between S1 and S2 block to process well
fluids from S1 and S2 block.
The spec-oil processed in CPF will be pumped to Zubaidiya power plant by the new
built 16” pipeline. The associated gas will be treated to meet the fuel gas specification
and piped to Besmaya power plant by a 10” pipeline.
Produced Water Treatment System will be built in CPF, and the produced water will be
transported to FPF for water injection. Water Injection System will be built both in FPF
and CPF. The water shortage for S2 injection will be supplemented by Rostomya
sewage plant which locates in the west bank of Diyala River.
BASIC DESIGN FOR EBS OILFIELD
