Right Confined Space Rules – Poster 1

Hopefully if you work in any Confined Spaces at Worsley you will know by now that the way we work has
been reviewed to make a more structured and rigorous process.
This is the first of a 3-Series poster-set intended to present more detailed information and rules that must be
followed to ensure the safety of those working within a Confined Space.

Risk Assessments
There is a risk assessment for the space itself called the Equipment Owner’s Risk
Assessment (EORA).
This assessment, with the controls listed, ensures the Space itself is safe to enter.
There is also another risk assessment called the Work Group Risk Assessment
(WGRA).
This assessment ensures the tasks can be carried out in the Space in a safe manner.
At least 1 Work Group representative will always be involved in conducting this
WGRA.
There will always be a WGRA with every Clearance on a Confined Space.
All Work Group members must read and be familiar with the assessments and how
work can be done safely.

Emergency Rescue
ALL Confined Spaces must have a Rescue Plan as part of the EORA – no
Rescue Plan, no Entry.
ONLY the entry point listed on the Plan can be used.
The WRGA tells the Recipient if they must call the ESO to let them know
they are going into a Space.
The STANDBY PERSON must know how to initiate an emergency
response:
Must know where the nearest land-line phone is for 555 calls.
Must be able to communicate with the occupants and preferably
should be able to see them.
Must NEVER ENTER the Space.
