& FORCE

BEED 2B
LEARNING
OBJECTIVES:

Identify Newton's Laws of Motion;

Participate actively to the activity about
force and motion; and
Show awareness on how the Newton's
Laws of Motion function in our daily life.
Interaction between two objects

FORCE that causes a change in the

motion of the objects.

What impact can forces have

on objects?
make it move In what way does
make it speed up the mass of an
make it slow down object impact
stop it force?
cause it to change direction
cause it to change shape
WHO WAS
ISAAC NEWTON?
A renowned physicist and mathematician from England
who discovered in 1687 the correlation between force
and motion. Today, his three laws of motion are
instrumental in describing the movement of any object
in the universe.
NEWTON'S
FIRST LAW OF MOTION
States an object at rest will stay at rest unless acted
on by an unbalanced force. An object in motion will
stay in motion at the same speed and in the same
direction unless acted on by an unbalanced force.
Balanced forces

Bagay na naka hinto Bagay na gumagalaw

(mananatiling naka hinto) (mananatiling gumagalaw)
Truck Car
Higher mass Low mass
Higher inertia Low inertia
NEWTON'S
SECOND LAW OF MOTION
States the acceleration of an object
by a force is inversely proportional
to the mass of the object and
directly proportional to the force.
FORCE = MASS • ACCELERATION
States for every
action, there is an
equal but opposite
reaction.
