STREET AND HIP-HOP DANCE

GENERAL RULES AND GUIDELINES OF THE ACTIVITY

1. All grade 10 students are encouraged to participate in the activity.


Non-participation in this activity will compromise the performance
task grade in Physical Education 10. However, a student may not
participate if he/she acquires any of the following:
a. Cardiovascular disease
b. Respiratory disease
c. Injury due to untoward accidents
d. Person with disability
2. No outsider participant(s) should be part of the group. Automatic
disqualification from the activity if the group failed to follow.
3. A drawlot will be made before the activity to identify the order of the
performances.
4. The music must be Original Pilipino Music (OPM) hip-hop. A
deduction of three (3) points from the total score if the group fails to
follow.
5. Each group must provide a copy of the music of their choice to the
operator before the activity begins. There should be a backup copy in
case the submitted music fails to play.
6. Music should be wholesome and lively and must not contain any
subliminal, sexually suggestive, or vulgar lyrics or language.
7. A minimum of five (5) minutes and a maximum of seven (7) minutes is
given to each group, excluding the entrance and exit. Any excess in
the time will have one (1) point deduction per minute from the total
score.
8. Each group is expected to perform at least three (3) to four (4) styles of
street and hip-hop dance. The use of freezes and power moves
(movements in B-boying) is highly discouraged.
9. The use of props will be allowed as long as it does not cause any delay
in the program or any harm to the performance of other groups.
10. Attire may include accessories such as hats, caps, gloves, scarves,
jewelry, etc.
11. Appropriate clothing should be observed throughout the competition.
12. The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.
