Introduction

The innovative Kwek Zone with unique flavors is a food business mainly concerned with

the famous street food “Tokneneng” with a unique twist in terms of flavor to attract customers

like tuna chorizo, chicken adobo, beef steak, and fish bola bola. The innovative “Tokneneng”

business will be established as a food stall to fully indulge in the street food concept. With its

unique features combined with the best promotional and business strategies, innovated

“Tokneneng” will surely boom in the long run.

“Tokneneng” is believed to have originated in the 1978 Filipino comic book series Batute.

The protagonist of this series, Batute, speaks his own language and refers to eggs as

“Tokneneng”. “Kwek-Kwek” is a well-known “Tokneneng” variant. “Kwek-Kwek” is traditionally

made with smaller quail eggs and batter made by combining annatto powder or soaked annatto

seeds in water. “Tokneneng” and “Kwek-Kwek” are frequently mistakenly used interchangeably.

“Tokneneng” is made of boiled chicken eggs that have been deep-fried until crispy and covered

in an orange-coloured batter. A sweet and sour vinegar dipping sauce is typically served with it

when it is served on skewers. Filipinos love “Tokneneng”, especially those who enjoy snacking

on tasty and inexpensive street foods. Its name comes from the popping and sizzling sound that

occurs when the batter is dipped into hot oil. “Tokneneng” is now widely consumed not only in

the Philippines but also in other nations with Filipino-majority populations. “Tokneneng” is

frequently served in Filipino restaurants and is also sold at events and festivals.

Our team will innovate an existing product that will have a surprise, and it's called Kwek

Zone. It is different from the rest because of its different flavour and the addition of flavorful

filling, which makes us unique and dissimilar from other competitive “Tokneneng” competitors.

This is made with colored flour, alternative breading, chicken eggs, flavorful stuffing, and

different dips. We truly enjoy eating street foods and experimenting with food, which is why we

came up with the idea of transforming “Tokneneng” into something much more delicious and

innovative to give it a unique twist.

Procedure on how to make a Kwek Zone

Step 1. Begin by boiling the chicken eggs: Place the chicken eggs in a small pot with enough water to
cover them. Bring the water to a boil and cook the eggs for about 10 minutes. Remove from heat, drain
the hot water, and place the eggs in a bowl of cold water to cool. After the eggs have cooled, remove the
shells and the eggyolk and add fillings (tuna chorizo, chicken adobo, bistek and fish bola bola)then, set
them aside.

Step 2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Mix the dry
ingredients until well combined.

Step 3. Stir continuously as you gradually add water to the dry mixture. Make sure the batter is free of
lumps.

Step 4. Mix in the food coloring (preferred colored according to fillings) until it is evenly distributed in the
batter. Adjust the amount of food coloring to achieve the desired intensity of the color.

Step 5. Heat enough cooking oil for deep frying in a deep frying pan or pot. The oil temperature should
be around 350-375°F (175-190°C).

Step 6. Dip a peeled chicken egg into the batter, making sure it is completely covered. To easily handle
the eggs, use a fork or a skewer. Allow any excess batter to drip off the coated egg.

Step 7. Place the coated chicken egg gently in the hot oil. Overcrowding the pan may cause the eggs to
stick together.

Step 8. Fry the coated eggs for 3-4 minutes, or until the batter turns golden brown and crispy. Make sure
to flip them every now and then to ensure even cooking.

Step 9. When the coated eggs are done, remove it from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain on a plate
lined with paper towels.

Step 10. Repeat with the remaining chicken eggs and batter to coat and fry.

Step 11. Serve the Kwek Zone hot with a side of egg/mayo, original or spicy garlic sauce and
vinaigrette dipping sauce.

because it is stuffed with a variety of pinoy favorite dishes. To add more taste that will burst into

Cost plus pricing is a pricing strategy in which a company determines the selling price by

calculating the total cost of producing a product or providing a service and then adding a

markup or profit margin. The markup or profit margin is usually expressed as a percentage of

the total cost. Kwek Zone innovation uses cost plus pricing to ensure that the prices cover all of

the costs associated with product production while also allowing them to generate the desired

level of profit. This approach provides pricing transparency by clearly linking the selling price to

the cost of production.

Product Development Process

Idea generation

The idea generated from the original recipe of “Tokneneng” that calls for the use of

chicken eggs and a batter that is formed by blending annatto powder or annatto seeds that have

been steeped in water. The terms “Tokneneng” and kwek kwek are often confused with one

another and used in the wrong context. “Tokneneng”is prepared using hard-boiled chicken eggs

that are then coated in an orange-colored batter and deep-fried until the eggs reach a crisp

texture while the kwek kwek is preapred using quil eggs. The name Kwek Zone was likely

chosen because of its catchy and memorable nature. Kwek from a well-known traditional street

food and zone it implies a specific area ore realm. The Kwek Zone is a direct reference of the

core product, offers a unique and immersive experience and ability to evoke excitement.
