CHAPTER III

Research Design

In this study, the researcher intends to measure the level of Computer literacy of the Senior

High School Student of Anislag National High School, it was conducted to know if the student

have a good amount of knowledge about computer literacy. This study will use descriptive-

analytic. We adapted the research design base on the research of “Computer literacy Among

Students of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences”

Sources of Data

The answer from the collected questionnaire will serve as the raw data that the researcher

will use as the main sources of data.

Population of the Study

The population of the study comprise students in Grade 11 senior high school students in

Anislag National High School. The researchers will take some respondents in every section in

Grade 11 students. The total number of students in Grade 11 senior high school is 491. In order

to meet the precise number of students that we need in this study that will be the respondents. The

researchers used slovin formula to meet the precise number of students. The researchers got the

216 total of respondents by using slovin formula.

Instrumentation and validation

The researchers adopted a survey questionnaire and exam and after adopting a survey, the

researcher will validate it to a professional. After validating, the researcher will have a validated

questionnaire that contains of (30) item and (30) questions on the exam having a total of 60 item.

Research Instruments

This study used questionnaires and exam that are used to survey the Grade 11 senior

high school students in Anislag National High School about computer literacy. In order to gather

accurate data, the researchers looked for questionnaire and exam that is related to the study. The

questionnaire contains of (30) questions about Computer essentials, windows, word.

Data Gathering Procedure

The researchers sends a letter of request to the Principal of Anislag National High

School asking for the approval to conduct the said research in Anislag National High school. The

researcher prepared a survey questionnaire and exam to gathered to and provide additional

information and to strengthen further the research insights and distribute in every section of

Grade 11 senior high school. The researchers picked a total of 216 students via slovin formula.

Next, the researchers distributed the survey questionnaire and exam that contains about Computer

literacy and they were given enough time to read and answer the questionnaire and exam. Lastly,

the survey questionnaire and exam were collected after the respondents finish answering. The

collected data were then tallied for computation and interpretation.

Statistical treatment

To give meaning to the data that were collected, descriptive statistical tools were

employed, namely: Frequency count, Percentage, Arithmetic mean, Standard deviation, Weighted

mean, One-Way ANOVA, Turkey’s test, Person’s product-moment, Coefficient of correlation,

and the Fisher’s t-Test. In testing the hypothesis, the decision whether the null hypothesis

accepted or rejected the following decision rule serve as a guide: accept the null hypothesis if and

when the computed value turned lesser the critical or tabular value or the p-value turned greater

than the a: on the other hand, reject the null hypothesis if and when the computed value turned

equal or greater than the critical or tabular value or the p-value turned equal or lesser than the a.

The hypothesis testing assumed that the level of significance would equal to a=0.005 in a two-

tailed test. Available statistical software or package were utilizes for the accuracy
