COORDINATION
The ability to use two or more body parts together
The body´s movement system needs to be combined with
its nervous system to produce coordinated movement.

Types of coordination
-Hand-eye coordination
-Foot–eye coordination

-Head-eye coordination
COORDINATION
For good coordination you need to be able to control various body
parts and limbs. Most people will find that they have better
coordination on their dominant side, depending on whether they
are right or left handed.

A pole-vaulter needs a
very high level of
coordination for all the
phases of his jump

The better your coordination, the better the standard of your

performance will be.
BALANCE
The ability to retain the centre of mass (gravity) of the body
above the base of support.

Types of balance
-Static balance: when the
balance is stationary.

-Dynamic balance: there are

changing conditions of
movement or shape.
BALANCE
Balance is something that the body tends to do automatically,
but for many athletes it is an essential factor in their
performance.

Being able to maintain balance also includes other factors such

as: strength, flexibility, practice, motivation, and concentration.
Agility
It is the ability to move and change direction and
position of the body
quickly and effectively while under control.

It needs the combination of the

physical components and
requires the integration of
isolated movement skills
using a combination of
balance, coordination, speed,
strength, flexibility and
endurance.
