Noun

- Is a name of person, animals place, event or things.


Kinds of Nouns
Count noun
– is a noun that can be counted.

Mass noun
- is a noun that cannot be counted.
Possessive noun
- express ownership or possession.
Singular noun
- is a noun that refers to only one person, place thing or idea.

Plural noun
- is a noun that refers to more than one person, place thing or idea.
Collective noun
- are words that refer to a group of people, animals or things.

Pronoun
- is a word that stands in for a noun, often to avoid the need to repeat
the same noun over and over.
Example of a Count noun
 Mary borrowed eggs from the shop.
 I bought a pen yesterday.
 I have three assignments in mathematics.
 The apples I picked from the apple tree are sweet.
 My two dogs are very noisy.

Example of a mass noun


 My Auntie has a long black hair.
 The water is very cold.
 My mother needs flour for her recipe.
 I need good soil to plant a beautiful flower.
 My soup was very hot.

Example of possessive noun


 My Dog’s collar is blue.
 Jason’s new car is red.
 My kitten’s bed was soft.
 The student’s project was a success.
 Her rabbit’s name was Ora.

Example of a singular noun
