NR527 Module 2

Reviewing the course outcome of the module, I am hoping to learn various concepts that

are key for improvement of patient care and job satisfaction among nurses. I am hoping to gain

an extensive comprehension of the significance of appropriate communication in the tasks of a

nurse leader. Effective communication is an integral element in the nursing profession since it
facilitates effective teamwork, collaboration and coordination among healthcare providers, and

enhnaces continuity of patient care (Campbell et al., 2020). One main aspect I am expecting to

learn is the importance of concise and effective communication within the healthcare system.

Effective communication helps in conveying fundamental information efficiently and accurately.

Therefore, learning how to express our ideas and thoughts as nursing students, we will enhance

quality of care and patient outcomes.

In addition, I expect to improve my skills and knowledge in collaborative

communication. Throughout the nursing practice, it is crucial for nurses to collaborate with their
colleagues as well as other healthcare providers to ensure safe, holistice, timely and effective

patient care. Learning ways to effectively collaborate and communicate with other healthcare

experts fosters an effective setting of shared expertise and knowledge (Campbell et al., 2020).

Collaborative approach allows nurses to develop extensive care plans, enhnace patient safety,

and make sound decisions.

Moreover, I am hoping to gain knowledge about non-verbal communication elemnets as

well as their effect on effective communication and collaboration. Non-verbal elements such as

facial expressions and body language, play an integral part in conveying empathy, emotions as

well as active listening. Being aware of non-verbal cues, nurses improve their capacity to

develop relationships with patients, comprehend their needs and preferences, and deliver

compassionate care. Besides, the module will help nursing students in understanding impacts of

poor communication in healthcare system and ways to enhance effective communication.

In conclusion, the module will equio us with crucial skills and knowledge to

communicate and collaborate effectively in their career as advanced-practice nurse leaders. By

understanding various ways of enhnacing collaboration and improving communication, nursing

students will aim at improving patient care, fostering teamwork and attaining suitable results for

both healthcare team and clients.
