CHAPTER 1:

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND AND LITERATURE REVIEW

Background of the Study:

In this part of the chapter, provide an in-depth discussion on what your topic
is about; provide your readers with an explanation on your concept, as well as
explain salient points to remember about your study.

Also, have a concise explanation as to why you as the researchers have

decided to have this topic for your research.

Review of Related Literature:

For this part of the study, you have to provide a detailed, clear, and
comprehensive discussion of the different THEMES you have formed based on
your related literature. Provide a clear explanation of the ideas, information, and
other relevant details which are vital to your research project.

Moreover, do not forget to include proper in-text citations to ALL your

sources in order to further reinforce the concepts that you have presented in your
study. Your review of related literature must be based on studies and articles which
are RELEVANT to your research topic. Do not forget that it is important to always
consider the similar themes that your related literature have.

Research Problem and Questions:

For this part of the study, simply state your objective; what do you aim to
find out in your research?

Specifically, you have to enumerate the research questions that YOU as the
researchers will have to answer at the end of the study. Please note the following
details:

1. Please determine what you want to be answered in your research.

2. Be specific when formulating your research questions; avoid overly general
questions to avoid confusions.
3. Remember that your research questions will serve as your guide when
formulating your research instruments.

Scope and Limitations:

For this part of Chapter 1, you are to discuss in detail the extent of your study
—what will your study be about, what will you be covering in your study, who will
be involved, how will they be involved, where will the study take place.

Note that it is important to be very clear regarding the coverage, and up to

what extent will your study be. This is in order to avoid any complications that might
stem up from your inability to explain that certain factors, areas, details, or variables
will no longer be involved in the conduct of your study.

Significance of the Study:

1. Who will benefit from your study:

Explain why these people/ individuals will be on of your beneficiaries in this
research; identify how they will benefit from this research and how this
research will be of help to them.

2. More people or individuals who will benefit:

Similarly, also explain how your beneficiaries were identified to be the ones
who will benefit from the results of your research study.

CHAPTER 2:

METHODOLOGY

Research Design:

In this part of the chapter, discuss what your SPECIFIC research design is. Why is
it considered as the appropriate design to be used for your research?

Sampling and Participants:

Who are the ones involved in your study? Why are they the ones involved? How
did you select your participants? Did you use any sampling techniques?

Instrument:

Discuss the instrument you used for data collection. What are the targets of your
research instrument? How was the instrument designed?

Data Gathering Process:

How was the data gathering be done? What were the steps/procedures you
followed? Discuss everything in full detail.

Data Analysis:

Discuss the process of analyzing the data you have conducted. What statistical
procedure did you use? How was the data interpreted?

CHAPTER 3:

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

Discuss the results of your data gathering

Use appropriate charts/tables to present your data (make sure that there is proper labeling
for your charts, graphs, tables, etc.)

Provide detailed discussions regarding your figures and tables as well as the results that
you have presented

Ensure that the results you are presenting are backed by supporting evidence taken from
related literature and other relevant sources (highlight ideas taken from your references
used to support your discussions)

CHAPTER 4:

SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Summary of the Study:

Discuss a recap of the research, its objectives, targets and rationale. Provide a
detailed synthesis of the discussion of results; include the meaningful findings from your
discussions in the previous chapter

Conclusions:

Based on the results of your study, answer the research questions and problem
statement indicated in your research case. Make sure that you are able to clearly
explain how each research question and research problem statement is addressed by the
results and research findings you have obtained

Recommendations:

Provide a list of relevant recommendations based on the findings that you have
acquired.

Include all concerned groups of people you deem would benefit from the results
of this study
