To
The Secretary- DOS/ Chairman- ISRO
Respected sir,
Sub: Request to extend limit in grant of Night Duty Allowance (NDA) - Basic Pay ceiling
43,600 - Reg
Ref: E(P&A) II-2017/HW-I dtd: 21.07.2022 & 19.11.2020 (attached)
We wish to bring few lines to your kind notice on the above subject for your perusal
and favourable consideration. Your good office might well aware that as per VII CPC
recommendations and subsequent orders on this matter the ceiling limit for granting NDA is
fixed at ₹43,600. Based on the prevailing rules and regulations on the subject matter,
department has stopped the grant of NDA to the personnel who have moved to the
prescribed pay ceiling limit.
In this regard, based on the many requests from different stake holders in Ministry of
Railways referred the matter with DoPT and MoF (DoE) on the above subject, and based on
the clarifications that received from DoPT and DoE, Ministry of Railways has been extended
the grant of NDA as follows:
“NDA may be granted to all eligible Non-gazetted Employees up to level-7 (including those
who are granted the benefit of MACP in pay level-8). However, maximum Basic Pay for
working out NDA shall remain ₹43,600” (Ref: E(P&A) II-2017/HW-I dtd: 21.07.2022).
Few sections or entities under various ISRO centers /units always involves round the
clock duties and due to continuous launch campaign activities in SDSC SHAR several sections
and their personnel are in continuous night shifts irrespective of their Basic pay and level.
In this regard, SETU would like to request your office to please consider the issue and
also kindly deliberate the matter for granting NDA by extending / altering basic pay ceiling
limits.
Yours sincerely
