WEEK-3:

MK. MIKROBIOLOGI
Prodi Akuakultur, Fakultas Perikanan dan
Kelautan, Universitas Airlangga
Sub-topik
1. Kebutuhan Nutrien
bakteri
2. Pertumbuhan bakteri
CPmk
Mahasiswa/i mampu
menjelaskan jenis-jenis
nutrien yang
dibutuhkan bakteri
serta fase
pertumbuhan bakteri
dengan baik dan benar
1. Nutrition

• Elemen-elemen atau kombinasi elemen yang

dibutuhkan oleh mahluk hidup untuk pertumbuhan
dan perbaikan
Nutrition Groups
1. Macronutrients : elements required in
fairly large amounts
2. Micronutrients : metals and organic
compounds needed in very small
amounts

6
Macronutrients:

7
• Potassium (K+) → aktivitas enzim, dan sistesis protein
• Calcium (Ca+) → heat resistance of bacterial endospore
• Magnesium (Mg2+) → cofactor for many enzymes, stabilize
ribosome and cell membrane
Micronutrients/trace elements

9
Growth factors
Organic compounds that cannot
synthesized by an organism but are
essential for its growth

10
Microbial growth requirements

• Carbon : Source of carbon for basic

structures
• Energi : Source of cellular energy
(ATP or related compounds) to drive
metabolic reactions
• Electron : Source of high energy
electrons/H, reducing power,
typically in form of NADH/NADPH
12
C. Pengelompokan bakteri berdasarkan Kemampuan
memproduksi makanan sendiri

3. Mixotrophs
Autotrophs
Photoautotrophs
Chemoautotrophs
Heterotrophs
Photoheterotrophs
Chemoheterotrophs
Mixotrophs
Nutrient uptake by bacteria

1. Passive transport:
tidak membutuhkan
energi
2. Active transport:
membutuhkan energi
Passive transport
• Difusi pasif
atau difusi
sedirhana
• Contoh: O2,
CO2, H2O

TRIMAKASIH
TUGAS
1. Sebut jenis-jenis nutrient yang terkandung pada media
kultur bakteri (padat maupun Cair) dan jelaskan
fungsinya masing-maisng
2. Gambar dan jelaskan fase pertumbuhan bakteri
Aeromonas hydrophila, Vibrio parahaemolyticus,
Lactobacillus plantarum, Bacillus subtilis,
Bifodobacterium sp.
• Why is nutrition important?
• The hundreds of chemical compounds present inside a living cell are
formed from nutrients.
