Dear Insurer,

I hope that you are doing well. Unfortunately, I have a complaint concerning the way my case was
dealt with.

My car, registration number 542 JN 14 and policy number A1508901, was hit on Friday 3 rd of
December. The next working day, On Monday the 6th of December, Leal & Co Ltd already sent their
draft estimate of Repairs to GFA Insurance. The police also already sent the particulars of the Road
accident to your company.

Afterwards, Mr Reaz Aliraja from GFA Insurance informed me that they would not be able to pay for
the Body Repair at Leal & Co LTD as the concerned car is not serviced there. I proceed to explain to
him that I have my own Garage for regular mechanical servicing but all my previous body repairs
have been completed by The BMW Dealership. I even submitted all my bodywork histories.

Unfortunately, after consulting his superiors, Mr Aliraja still maintained that my BMW 520i will not
be repaired at Leal & Co LTD for the above-mentioned reason. Furthermore, on Thursday the 6 th of
January 2022, he added that the car should be sent to a medium garage and proposed a settlement
of merely Rs85 000.

Even though I did not agree with what Mr Aliraja said, I still sent the car to Tiremaster Mechanical on
Monday the 10th of January. The workshop then forwarded their own ‘Draft Estimate of Repairs’ to
GFA. At the same time, I asked Mr Aliraja if new original parts will be used. To my disappointment,
he said that GFA will supply reconditioned parts. I did not accept this as I bought my car brand new
from the BMW dealership and won’t allow second hand parts to be used for the repair.

I find it unacceptable that GFA refused to pay for the Body repair at Leal & Co LTD. Then the
company tried to make a cash settlement of only Rs85 000 when some medium garages estimated
the repair to cost around Rs400 000. Lastly, I find it completely inadmissible that they tried to use
second parts on a car that I purchased brand new.

Hence, since you are refusing to send the car to Leal & Co LTD, I just want you to agree with the
estimate of repairs of Tiremaster Mechanical. I believe that this is the purpose of an insurance
company and I hope that you’ll be able to provide relief to your client.
