Clinical Note:
NS1 antgen is found from the frst day and up to 9 days afer onset of fever in sample of primary or secondary dengue
infected patents.
Ig M antbodies are not detectable untl 5-10 days in case of primary dengue infecton and untl 4-5 days in Secondary
Infecton afer onset of illness, IgG appear afer 14 days and persist for life in case of primary infecton and rise within 1-2
days afer the onset of symptoms in secondary infecton.
This form of disease is more serious and can result in DHF (dengue haemorrhagic fever) and DSS (dengue shock syndrome).
The major clinical symptoms can include high fever, haemorrhagic evets, and circulatory failure, and fatality rate can beas
afer the onset of symptoms; this generally persists up to 15 days. Earlier diagnosis of dengue reduces risk of complicaton
such as DHF or DSS, especially in countries where 1dengue is endemic.
* Positve Dengue Virus specifc IgM antbodies suggest Primary Dengue infecton.
* Positve Dengue Virus specifc IgG antbodies suggest Secondary Dengue infecton.
* Positve Dengue Virus specifc IgG & IgM antbodies suggest Secondary Dengue infecton.
