What do they use as a starting point when they begin to work on a piece? (a photo, news story, personal
experience, an object, an idea or concept)

They usually begin by interviewing and listening to people tell stories about themselves or
their lives
What is their rehearsal process?
They have 4 key parts to their productions: Verbatim, Movement & Motif, Character & Narrative,
Exposing the Method. They find and umbrella theme, and then from there they begin
interviewing, finding verbatim material and doing research on that theme. They only use real
stories in their performances. They make scenes to do with the research on their theme, and
then they choose a scene or story that will be the main part that they revisit throughout the
performance. They always try to show many sides to an issue or theme to allow the audience to
make up their own mind about the issue, and they always have the audience's emotions in mind
when writing scenes.

What do they use as a starting point when they begin to work on a piece? (a photo, news story, personal
experience, an object, an idea or concept)

They take stories or themes to create an exhibition or a production that showcases different
views of the same stimuli. They also make shows about true stories, and if they choose a known
story they find ways to make it unique.
