1. Resourcefulness: he/she must have the ability to find quick and
intelligent ways to alleviate any inconvenience that may have been
caused and also solve any problem that may have occurred in
good time.
2. Honesty: he/she must be a person whose reputation is above board.
3. Expectation management: a good travel agent must have the
ability to manage clients expectation.
4. Good understanding of ICT: he/she must know how to use the
computer and the internet in his favour.
5. Marketing skills: he/she must have the ability to market what he is
doing so as to attract clients.
6. Good communication skill: he/she must have tact in communicating
with his client based on their exposure.
7. Timeliness: In tourism, time is of essence. The travel agent must ensure
that his/her clients are well informed of time for everything.

8. Friendly: He/she must be polite and friendly at all cost to attracts and retains
clients.
9. Confidence: He/she must have good knowledge of tourist destination which
will give him confidence while communicating.
