Triveni Turbines Ltd at Sarsawa site on 14/02/24 regarding HS coupling failure issue of
Mill#04 Turbine of 300 BHP and Health check up of Mill#02 Mill#03 & Power Turbine of
600BHP, 600BHP & 2000KW respectively on dated 13/02/2024. Serial number TST-
400/40, 400/37, 400/38 & 550/9 respictively.

Following points discussed during meeting:-

1. Customer requested to visit the TTL team at site and observe the running condition of
Mill Turbine #04 after damaged HS coupling and turbine bearings replacement.
2. TTL Engineer reached site on 13/02/24, and observed mill turbine #04 for any running
abnormalities, they found all parameters within limit. No vibration or any rubbing sound
observed.
3. However the turbine is observed healthy in running condition, but the detailed open
inspection is also required to check the condition of all internals (i.e. nozzle, diaphragm,
journal, bearings etc), so that we can assess any impact of coupling failure on its
internals.
4. It is recommended to check bearing & HS coupling conditions, whenever the turbine is
stopped for general cleaning purpose, this action is recommended to prevent any
unexpected failure.
5. As per observation of damaged coupling it seems to be damaged by sudden load change
or jerk load on the turbine. Hence it is recommended to maintain the crushing load
evenly.
6. Mill Turbine#02 & #03 and Power Turbine of 2000KW running parameters checked and
found within limit.
 7. Oil seepage from mechanical governor of Mill Turbbine#02 and Mechanical governor
rocker arm need inspection since it seems loose in running of Mill Turbine#04 which
must be rectified during Overhauling.
8. Some oil seepage found near the mechanical governor, gearwheel fore oil seal, alternator
rear pedestal oil seal of Power Turbine which must be rectified during overhauling.
9. Health Check-up done and report submitted of all four turbine.
10. Recommended spares need to be maintained during major overhauling of turbine.
11. M/s TTL is thankful to M/s The Kishan Co-Operative Sugar Factory Ltd., Sarsawa for
their cooperation during Visit.
12. M/s TTL Engineer left site on 14/02/24.
