Collodi (the pseudonym of journalist Carlo Lorenzini) wrote Le avventure di


Pinocchio in language inflected with Tuscan dialect. You will need to work quote
hard on tracking down individual words in a large dictionary. The endnotes to the
edition of the book included in Carlo Collodi, Opere, edited by D. Marcheschi
(Milan, 1995) are very helpful.
