It was fortunate for me to participate in a cognitive internship at 2 locations, which are
Shilla Monogram Quangnam, Danang and THACO Chu Lai. After 2 visits to 2
companies, I was very excited to learn more about these companies. potential future
jobs. In addition, the lecturers helped and guided us in many different careers for
English majors during our time in college. Furthermore, when participating in the
internship process at a number of units and businesses, I learned new things and had
new career options. So, I will outline my short-term and long-term career goals in my
report.

II. Short-term and long-term career goals:

1. Career Orientation

As society continues to develop, the fierce competition forces businesses to create


breakthroughs to meet the needs of society while increasing their competitiveness.
Therefore, each business needs to have a human resources department to recruit and
train strong human resources to perform the best tasks.

Therefore, it is clear that the human resources management industry is very important
and is a growing field with wide job opportunities for graduating students. Personally,
I have prepared and tried myself in a few positions of this industry, and working in this
position for a while, I realized that the work environment is extremely important for
students about to graduate like me. In addition, the factors that need to be met to meet
the input of the enterprise are also very important. When choosing to follow this career,
the knowledge, skills in working, behavior, etc. should also be something that
graduating students must always be ready. Therefore, career planning and goal setting
play a very important role in our career development journey.
In the early stages of my career development journey, I will set short-term goals that I
need to achieve within five years from the start of my career.

These goals will focus on accumulating experience, improving the necessary skills in
the hospitality industry, and building relationships with other individuals in the
industry. This is also an opportunity for me to gain a deeper understanding of the
industry and to orient myself towards longer-term goals.

2.1. Situational analysis skills:

+ Take a course or training program on situational analysis in the field of human


resources.
+ Practice analyzing complex human resources situations in work or daily life.
+ Keep a reflection journal on human resources situations that you have successfully
analyzed.

2.2. Decision-making skills:

+ Establish a decision-making process for yourself in the field of human resources.


+ Focus on gathering information and analyzing alternative options before making
human resources-related decisions.
+ Listen to feedback from others about your human resources-related decisions.

2.3. Problem-solving skills:

+ Take a course or training program on problem-solving in the field of human


resources.
+ Practice solving human resources problems in work or daily life.
+ Keep a reflection journal on human resources problems that you have successfully
solved.
+ Set goals and deadlines for yourself in the field of human resources.
+ Learn to distinguish between important and unimportant human resources tasks.
+ Learn to say "no" to unnecessary human resources requests.

2.5. Relationship-building skills:

+ Actively listen when talking to employees, applicants, recruiters, etc.


+ Demonstrate interest and understanding for employees, applicants, recruiters, etc.
+ Build a network of connections with human resources professionals in the industry.

+ Learn to work effectively with managers, employees, applicants, etc.


+ Respect the opinions of managers, employees, applicants, etc., even if you disagree.

Setting long-term goals helps each of us have a holistic view of the big and important
goals for each of us to focus on working and aiming for, creating motivation and
striving to overcome difficulties and challenges on the road to success, avoiding
wandering and not focusing on important things. It helps to clearly define and shape
the direction in both life and career.

3.1. Specific goals:

+ Within 10 years of my career, I will become a human resources manager at a leading


hospitality company.
+ Within 15 years of my career, I will become a human resources director at a
multinational company.
+ Within 20 years of my career, I will become a human resources consultant and
provide advice to companies around the world.

3.2. Strategies to achieve goals:

+ Continue to gain experience and skills in the hospitality industry.


+ Pursue relevant educational and training opportunities to advance my career.
+ Build strong relationships with other professionals in the human resources industry.

3.3. Benefits of achieving goals:

+ Achieving these long-term goals will allow me to make a significant contribution to


the hospitality industry and to the world.
+ It will also allow me to achieve my personal goals of financial security, professional
fulfillment, and making a difference in the world.
1. Shilla Monogram Quangnam, Danang:

Shilla Monogram Quangnam, Danang is a five-star luxury hotel located in Da Nang,


Vietnam. The hotel opened in 2022 and is a member of the Shilla Group of South
Korea.

The hotel has a total of 328 rooms and suites, all of which are equipped with modern
interiors and luxurious amenities. The rooms all have stunning views of the East Sea
or Da Nang city.

THACO Chu Lai is a multi-industry industrial complex, including automobile
manufacturing plants, mechanical manufacturing plants, supporting industries,
seaports, and urban areas. The complex was built and developed by THACO Group,
one of the leading private economic groups in Vietnam.

THACO Chu Lai was founded in 2006, with a total area of over 1,200 hectares. The
complex currently has a total investment of over 80,500 billion VND and over 8,700
employees.

THACO Chu Lai is one of the largest automotive production centers in Vietnam. The
complex currently has 7 automobile manufacturing plants, including assembly plants,
parts and components plants, and electric vehicle plants.

THACO Chu Lai is also a large supporting industry production center. The complex
currently has over 30 supporting industry manufacturing plants, providing products
and services to domestic and international automotive manufacturing plants.

THACO Chu Lai is also an important logistics center. The complex currently has Chu
Lai seaport, one of the largest seaports in central Vietnam. Chu Lai seaport has the
capacity to receive container ships with a capacity of up to 100,000 DWT.

THACO Chu Lai is also a developing urban center. The complex currently has the
Chu Lai New City, Chu Lai Town, and Chu Lai Industrial Urban areas.

THACO Chu Lai plays an important role in the socio-economic development of
Quang Nam province in particular and Vietnam in general. The complex has created
thousands of jobs for local people and contributed significantly to the state budget.

IV. Conclusion:

In conclusion, a career development plan is essential for students. It not only helps
students to organize their tasks but also opens the door to success after graduation. In
addition, a perfect career development plan is a great source of motivation. It helps
students to stay focused and minimize procrastination, which will help them achieve
their goals more effectively.

Personally, I realize that I am not yet good enough and I do not have enough
confidence in the process of working and living. But I will not stop trying to develop
and improve from my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges on the
career path that I deserve to pursue through creating a career development plan with
short-term and long-term goals. By constantly learning, connecting with people to
seize opportunities and making every effort, I will definitely have a meaningful career.
