Team Leader Tips and Prep

Mind your P’s & Q’s to avoid DQ’s

Hello filmmaker!

It’s time for the next step in preparation for your upcoming
filmmaking weekend!

Read the rules:

We have two rule changes this year!

We’ve made the footage rule clearer (Rule D) and we have

added a new rule on using AI (Artificial Intelligence) (Rule Y).

As always, new participants should become familiar with rules,

and veteran participants are encouraged to review them.

The rules keep everyone on an even playing field and contribute

to the purpose of the competition – being as creative as possible
to make a short film in 48 hours!

Turn in your film!

The on-time film deadline is 7.30pm on Sunday.

Late films will not be judged; however, all eligible* films submitted on
(both on-time and late films!) will be screened and are listed for
audience voting.*
Remember the run-time requirements!

Your film must be a minimum of 4 minutes, and a maximum of 7 minutes.

Following your film are the credits.
End credits must be less than 1 minute.
Opening slates including a team logo do NOT count towards the film’s
run time unless there are sounds, dialogue, or opening credits intertwined
with the slates.

Outtakes, photos, extended dialogue, and other entertaining footage may be

included in closing credits, but the story must be completed prior to the
credits. Save creative work for the event weekend.

Logistics, locations, team members, actors, music, and equipment can all be
considered ahead of time. Get location waivers signed ahead of time!
Designate a team member as the paper wrangler to avoid missing documents
later.
