GLYCOL INJECTION PROCEDURE FOR SSD-1x ROC A

(Well Control)
Reminders:
 Glycol injection procedure to be A4 plastified and posted
on the rig choke manifold near choke A, on the Glycol
injection pump and in the Driller’s house.
 Glycol injection pump to be tested to 15K (same frequency
as BOP test)
 Glycol injection pump to be function tested every hitch
 Glycol minimum stock on the rig : 750 litres in a 1000 litres
capacity tank.
 SSD-1x :
 HP zone starts at ± 3761 mTVDRT
 HT zone starts at ± 4350 mTVDRT
 Glycol injection pump to be ready from 3700 mTVDRT

Procedure :
 If Well control has to be performed
ASSUMING using Remote Operated Choke A
 Ensure Glycol injection pump is connected to
injection port on the 15K buffer chamber on the side
of valve no 1 and valve no 2.
 Check the Glycol injection pump is connected to the
Glycol tank.
 Valves no 2, no 4, no 6, no 27, no 5 are closed and
valve no 3 upstream choke open.
 START injection of Glycol at 0.2 l/min when the gas
influx is at ± 1000 metres below the BOP.
 Check that the level of Glycol in the tank is going
down.
 If starting to see ice on choke manifold, increase
quickly the Glycol injection rate to 2.5 l/min.
 Check physically that the level of Glycol in the glycol
tank is going down.
 When no more ice is visible, decrease the Glycol
injection rate to 1 l/min.
 STOP Glycol injection when the gas influx has been
fully evacuated.

Order Glycol in order to have always 750 litres on the rig
