Subject: Winter holidays should not be extended

Dear Principal,
In light of the recent decision that you announced regarding the extension of
winter holidays. I was deeply concerned with this decision as on the days where
the winter holidays were extended, were supposed to be our last 3 exams of the
mid-term but they have been further delayed. In order to replace the 2 work days
at school, it was decided that classes would be online and in my personal
opinion, I believe that online classes are no way near as productive as compared
to physical classes. Less students are likely to attend such classes and they are
most likely to have a careless attitude towards such classes and moreover, the
teacher is not able to grab the students’ attention well enough in online classes
as comparted to physical ones. These reasons result to less academic progress
being made during these days and a full potentially productive work day is
wasted. Furthermore, there is the impending fact that our CAIE exams are
getting closer and closer by the day and it is essential not to waste any precious
time and be as productive as possible.
Keeping in mind that this extension of winter holidays was decided as a result of
the increasing level of smog in Lahore and I suggest that the school day be
shortened in order for some progress to still be made. I would highly appreciate if
you could take out the time to listen to my worries.
Sincerely,
Muhammad Raamish Nauman.
